Jennifer Lopez is reflecting on her 2021 song about not fearing changing up one’s life.

The "Can't Get Enough" singer, 54, posted a clip from her 2021 video for "Cambia el Paso" — an empowerment song she co-wrote about changing one's own circumstances — on Instagram on Sunday, July 7.

When translated to English from Spanish, one verse in the song includes these lyrics: "He doesn't deserve to have her in his arms." However, that section of the song wasn't part of the snippet that Lopez posted.

The post came days after Lopez spent the Fourth of July holiday in New York separately from her husband, Ben Affleck, who was in Los Angeles.

Notably, Lopez originally released the song in July 2021, just a few months after her relationship with Alex Rodriguez ended.

Lopez initially captioned the Instagram post with just the song title, but within a few hours, she changed it to: "Happy Anniversary 'Cambia el Paso' … ☀️🌴."

The clip Lopez posted only included the pre-chorus and chorus, in which she sings, "Uno, dos, tres, uno, dos tres, avanza," which translates to "one, two, three, move forward."

"All she wanna do is just dance, dance, dance, dance," she sings in English in the chorus, before singing the track's title, which translates to "Change the Step."

Lopez rolls around on the beach in the clip, wearing a silver bustier with jean shorts in one scene and dancing on the street in denim in another scene.

"Her life is better now without him … she doesn't need anyone to be well / She does not fail, she does not fail," the song continues.

The Marry Me star explained the meaning of the song on SiriusXM's Pitbull's Globalization in 2021.

"The song is about change and not being afraid to take the step," she said at the time. "Like, just take the step, advance, do what you need to do."

"If something's not feeling right, whatever it is in your life, like, just make that move and dance," Lopez continued.

The multi-hyphenate, who began her career as a dancer, went on to explain that to her, "dance means life and joy and happiness."

"So, whenever I'm talking about dance ... I'm talking about something else," she said, adding that to her it means, "You've got to be yourself, you've got to be happy."

In late June, a source told PEOPLE that Affleck, 51, moved his belongings out of the couple's shared Los Angeles mansion.

The couple, who wed in July 2022, are "focused on their separate lives" this summer amid tensions in their marriage and they "don’t have any summer plans together," a source also told PEOPLE.
