The dinosaurs are back in the park, and come 2025, new stars are joining them.

Jurassic World 4, the latest installment in the iconic Jurassic franchise, is set to hit theaters in July 2025. Building on the legacy of the original 1993 film, Jurassic World 4 aims to captivate audiences once again with its dinosaur adventures, otherworldly landscapes and legendary star appearances.

Johansson is taking the lead in the new cast of Jurassic World 4, alongside franchise veteran Goldblum, who has captivated audiences as Dr. Ian Malcolm and will reprise his role once again.

In a surprise video message played during Johansson’s appearance on the Today show in July 2024, Goldblum welcomed the award-winning actress to the franchise.

“Doctor Johansson, this is Jeff Goldblum,” he said in a video message. “Here’s what I want to say to you. This I know: Scarlett will find a way. Don’t get eaten, unless you want to.”

At the end of the clip, Goldblum gives a playful, “I love you. Mwah!"

"Oh my gosh,” Johansson said on the show. “I can't believe Jeff actually said that to me. I mean, I think my life is complete now. I can retire."

Joining Goldblum and Johansson are Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacano and two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali.

Edwards, known for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Godzilla and most recently, The Creator, is directing Jurassic World 4.

In an interview with Collider in February 2024, Edwards said he was actually intending to take a break and focus on writing his “next idea” for a film when the Jurassic opportunity came to him.

“This is the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in,” Edwards said. “I think the first movie is a cinematic masterpiece ... so this opportunity is like a dream to me.”

The script for the upcoming Jurassic installment was written by Koepp, who wrote the original 1993 film and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. His work on the upcoming film is his first return to the franchise since the 1997 movie.

"The script is so incredible," Johansson told ComicBook.com in June 2024. "David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He's so passionate about it, which is so awesome."

Steven Spielberg, who directed the first Jurassic Park film, is serving as an executive producer on the project. Additionally, Frank Marshall, who produced the Jurassic World trilogy, is producing the upcoming film along with another veteran of the franchise, Patrick Crowley.
