Keanu Reeves and Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Make Rare Appearance at Motorcycle Race in Germany

Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant spent a day at the races in Germany!

On Sunday, July 7, the actor and motorcycle lover, 59, and his visual artist girlfriend, 51, stepped out together for the final day of the MotoGP Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, and even waved the checkered flag together.

The couple — who are selective about where they spend their time, as a source recently told PEOPLE — were all smiles as they each held the flag with one hand each at the Sachsenring Circuit in Hohenstein-Ernstthal.

It was a fitting outing for the Matrix actor, who has long been passionate about motorcycles — and even has a custom motorcycle company, ARCH.

“Motorcycles are a huge part of his life," a source recently told PEOPLE of Reeves, adding that Grant “never minded” his infatuation with the vehicles.

“She has a very calm personality and just wants him to be happy,” the insider explained.

To watch the motorbike races with his longtime love, Reeves wore an all-denim look. Grant, meanwhile, also rocked jeans, but she paired them with a light blue sweater and a pair of chunky sunglasses.

The Speed star and the artist — who started off as friends and artistic collaborators before they took their relationship public in 2019 — prefer to keep things low-key, dedicating their nights to art or close pals, a source recently told PEOPLE. 

"They're often invited to events but only attend ones that truly matter to them," they said. "They're both homebodies. They'd much rather entertain at home. They often have friends over for dinner. It's always the best.”

In March, a source told PEOPLE that the John Wick star is “very happy” with Grant.

"This is the most fun and positive relationship that Keanu has ever been in," the source told PEOPLE, noting that the visual artist is “a rare gem” that “everyone just loves.”

"She is adorable, sweet, caring and funny. She has her own life and career but is also very supportive of Keanu's," they added. "When he films on location, she travels with him. When he films locally, she often visits the set."

Last year, Grant opened up about her bond with Reeves, both romantic and creative. “The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun,” she told PEOPLE at the 2023 Los Angeles Beverly Arts Icon Awards.

"What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we're pushing each other to build new roads,” she later noted. “Seeing the other person's problem-solving is inspiring, like, ‘Oh, well, okay, this one, that's a cul-de-sac. How do I try this other thing?’ ”

“He's such an inspiration to me,” Grant added. “He's so creative, he's so kind. He works so hard.”

Reeves has also spoken with PEOPLE about Grant, revealing in early 2023 that his last moment of bliss was "a couple of days ago with my honey.”

“We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great,” he recalled, adding that “it was just really nice to be together."
