Malcolm Gladwell's upcoming book, Revenge of the Tipping Point: Overstories, Superspreaders, and The Rise of Social Engineering, finally has a cover, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.

The bestselling author's book, which is a follow-up to his 2000 book The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference, will be available for purchase this October.

On the day of the book's release, Gladwell, 60, will embark on a North American book tour, with details that have yet to be announced.

Revenge of the Tipping Point will bring a "fresh perspective" to the concepts Gladwell previously explored in The Tipping Point as it reexamines the lessons in a "startling and revealing light."

Gladwell's book will show us how society has encountered and endured recent epidemics, "sometimes with great success, sometimes with disastrous consequences."

The book will also explore new issues and questions that have come to prominence in our society in the last 25 years.

Among them are "Why in the late 1980s and early ’90s did Los Angeles become the bank robbery capital of the world?," “What is the Magic Third and what does it have to do with racial equity?” and “How did a 1970s television show change the world, and what exactly happened at a corporate retreat at the Boston Marriott Hotel?” according to the book's synopsis.

One takeaway expected in Revenge In The Tipping Point is how to properly take accountability and make a positive impact. “Above all, we must recognize our responsibility — as individuals and as a society — to take tipping points seriously if we want to change our world for the better," a synopsis for the book said.

"With this thought-provoking new book, his most personal yet, Gladwell gives us the insights we need to meet these challenges in innovative ways.”
