Marlon Wayans recently endured a scary situation — and now, he's telling fans all about it.

In a video on Instagram posted on Thursday, July 4, Wayans, 51, revealed that his house was burglarized. The post was accompanied by an extensive caption, which began: "God is so Good. Everyone is fine. I’m grateful."

The comedian noted that he was the "wrong" person to rob, and said that "robbers" should "save your energy."

"I don’t have anything valuable in my house except MY HOUSE. Sorry, I live a simple life with 2 cats and one of them is a 1994 Range Rover, you will need a jumpstart if you steal it cuz the battery is dead," he continued. "Robbers don’t waste your energy or your life doing home invasions, s--- is too heavy!!! You want to carry all that bulls---? Throw your back out, and for what?!"

The actor signed off on his post, writing, "I repeat I don’t own s--- valuable. I don’t have a bunch of cash or jewelry. Please pick a better 🎯 thank you and love you… still."

PEOPLE reached out to Wayans' reps for comment and was told to refer to his Instagram post.

In the video itself, Wayans — who wore a collared shirt and a baseball cap that says "G.O.A.T." — reiterated his gratitude for those who checked in on him when he was "burglarized." "I want you to know that they didn't really get much, 'cause I don't own s---," he shared.

Wayans said the most valuable thing in his house was his house, itself. "So unless you were gonna put that s--- on a truck and drag it away, then you did well. But I don't own s---," he continued.

TMZ reported that the robbery happened early on Saturday, June 29. Wayans' brother Keenen was home when the incident occurred but didn't think much of hearing the robbers enter the house from the back by shattering a window.

The following morning, one of Wayans' staffers found the home had been broken into. Several thousand dollars in cash and a safe were reportedly taken from his home.
