Michael Easton is saying goodbye to General Hospital after a decade of starring on the soap opera.

The actor, 57, expressed gratitude to the show’s cast and crew in a video post on Instagram on June 26, just one day before his final episode airs.

“I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye,” Easton said. “That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone. But I thought you all deserved better, so I just wanted to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital.”

“I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here,” he continued. “I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family. I won’t ever forget you. And as I walk out here for the last time, and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the Earth.”

Alongside the video, the actor wrote a short and sweet caption: “Thank you for your kindness. My heart is filled with love and gratitude. #gh #goodbye”

Easton joined General Hospital in 2012 from One Life to Live, where he played John McBain. During his run on GH, Easton appeared in more than 940 episodes as Hamilton Finn and other characters.

With Easton departing the show, two familiar faces are set to return, including five-time Daytime Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson, reprising the role of Lucky Spencer, and Bryan Craig, who is returning as Morgan Corinthos for an episode in August.

Earlier this year, Steve Burton also made his return to GH, playing Jason Morgan once again after his character was presumed to have died trying to save his brother Drew (Cameron Mathison).

News of Burton's return to General Hospital was announced in January during the final moments of ABC's primetime special General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars & Storytelling.

"Happy anniversary, General Hospital," Burton said in a pre-recorded clip. "Stay tuned. Big things are coming to Port Charles."

In a video posted to the Daily Drama's YouTube channel in early February, the actor offered a glimpse of his return to the ABC soap's set, teasing what's in store for his big comeback.
