Chris Pratt Shows PDA with Fiancée Katherine Schwarzenegger, Says He Wants 'Lots of Kids'

The newly engaged couple were photographed out in Santa Monica together, holding hands as they headed out to dinner

Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt had a sweet date night on Friday.

The couple who got engaged earlier this month after just seven months of dating — was photographed out in Santa Monica together, holding hands as they headed to dinner.

Schwarzenegger, 29, wore black jeans, a matching singlet top and a brown sherpa jacket. She accessorized with a black purse and black furry flats.

Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger’s mega-carat diamond engagement ring, a romantic oval center stone set on a very thin simple band estimated to cost anywhere between $150,000 to $550,000, was covered by Pratt’s hand.

Pratt, 39, kept it casual in navy pants and blue sweater, which he paired with blue sneakers and a silver chain necklace.

Pratt spent Friday doing press for his upcoming movie Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (in theaters Feb. 8). While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Pratt opened up about his life goals.

“The future? Oh. Lots of kids,” said Pratt, who shares 6-year-old son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris, 42.

The actor also said he wants to work less. “Maybe less time spent working, more time spent enjoying life,” he told ET. “I always want to be that guy that works to live, not lives to work. I think [I want to spend] just a lot of time at the farm and a lot of time catching a lot of fish and seeing lots of sunsets.”

Following a whirlwind romance that began over the summer, Pratt announced the couple’s engagement via Instagram on Jan. 14, captioning the post, “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! 💍🙏♥️.”

Schwarzenegger responded by sharing the same photo and writing, “My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you,” alongside a red heart emoji and a ring emoji.

The couple was congratulated by a slew of their friends in the comments, including Schwarzenegger’s brother, Patrick, and her mother, Maria Shriver.

“Congratulations to two loving kind caring thoughtful Spiritual people,” Shriver, 63, wrote in the comments. “We are so happy for you you are blessed as is everyone who knows you yes let’s go.”

Patrick, 25, wrote, “Love you brother.”

Faris also congratulated the two, writing, “I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations!”

Earlier this month, a source told PEOPLE that Pratt’s son Jack had a big role to play in the actor’s decision to marry Schwarzenegger, with the pair including the boy into their outings as they got to know each other.

“Instead of mostly enjoying solo, romantic dates, Chris’ son from early on was a very big part of their dating life,” said the insider.

Schwarzenegger enjoyed the time she spent with father and son, added the insider.

“Katherine never minded that her dates with Chris many times involved a kid activity, like a matinee movie, or going to Disneyland,” said the source. “Katherine is like a big kid and loves doing activities with Jack. She loves that Chris is a dad.”

While Schwarzenegger does not have children of her own, witnessing the Guardians of the Galaxy star’s bond with his young son factored into her decision to marry him, said the source.

“Seeing Chris with Jack made Katherine positive from early on that Chris is ‘the one,’” the source revealed.
