Noah Cyrus Deletes Instagram Stories Responding to Backlash for Liking Liam Hemsworth's Selfie amid Family Drama

Noah Cyrus has retracted her comments on the backlash she's received for showing Liam Hemsworth love on Instagram amid family drama.

In Instagram Stories viewed by PEOPLE on Sunday, April 7, the actress and singer, 24. wrote, "There's no greater joy than seeing y'all get s0000000 angry over the dumbest s--- it's so entertaining and funny," over an image of pipes and gravel.

In another slide, she wrote: "Who gives a f---" in white text over a black background.

She was seemingly responding to the backlash she'd been receiving on social media for liking a selfie posted by her sister Miley Cyrus' ex-husband on April 5.

Hemsworth was in the gym in the black and white photo, wearing a tank top.

"#legday" he captioned the image, adding, "A massive thank you to everyone that has watched Land of Bad! The feedback has been awesome. Extremely grateful for all the love and support!"

Per a screenshot taken by PEOPLE, Noah still likes the photo as of Monday, April 8.

On Sunday evening, Noah attended a basketball game with her fiancé Pinkus in Los Angeles.

Her social media posts and reactions come amid estrangement between the "All Falls Down" singer and some of her family members because of her parents Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus' 2022 split.

Miley, 31, appears to support her mother and excluded Billy Ray, 62, from her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech.

The "Flowers" singer served as a bridesmaid in Tish's August 2023 wedding to Dominic Purcell along with her sister Brandi, 36. Their brother Trace, 35, also attended the event, which was held at Miley's Malibu home.

However, Noah and her brother Braison, 29, both of whom Tish shares with Billy Ray, weren't present at the wedding.

In fact, on the day of the celebration, Noah shared a photo to her Instagram Stories of her wearing a Billy Ray T-shirt alongside Braison.

After the wedding, the Cyrus family made headlines when a source exclusively told PEOPLE that Purcell had been casually dating Noah before marrying her mom.

"Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends-with-benefits way, off and on. They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up," the source said. "Tish knew he had been seeing Noah." 

The source added that Tish, "never gave Noah the chance to talk about all of this" before she married the Prison Break star.

Meanwhile, a source also told PEOPLE that Miley had "no idea" about the drama between her mother and sister.

"Miley had no idea about the drama with Dominic. No idea at all," the source said.

The source said Miley "confronted her mom about it."

"She thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy," the insider added.
