Ricky Schroder and Julie Trammel are heading down the aisle.

Trammel, the The Sound of Music theater actress, announced her engagement to the NYPD Blue actor, 54, on Instagram on Thursday, July 11 with a sentimental piano performance dedicated to her fiancé.

In the video, the actress played Bill Evans’ “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life” on a black grand piano as she sang along to the lyrics. Schroder could be seen in the piano’s reflection filming her on his phone.

The clip also showed a brief look at her large diamond engagement ring, which adorned her left hand. The diamond ring appeared to be in the shape of a rectangle with smaller diamonds encircling the larger stone.

“What are you doing the rest of your life?” I’ll be doing mine with Ricky. ❤️,” Trammel captioned the post. Schroder reshared her video on his Instagram Stories, writing, “I love Julie.”

It is unclear how long the pair have been dating, though Trammel first featured him on her Instagram in January, while sharing photos from their trip to Israel. In several photos, she and the actor could be seen smiling with their arms around each other at different sites.

She also shared a photo with Schroder at a documentary premiere held at Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla. "Beautiful evening with my love," she wrote.

Trammel was first featured on Schroder's Instagram in a post he shared of his team working on a documentary. "Just completed a wonderful shoot," he wrote.

The Silver Spoons actor was previously married to Andrea Schroder, who filed for divorce in 2016 after nearly 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

In the filing, she also requested legal and physical custody of the couple’s youngest child, Faith, who was 15 years old at the time, and requested that Schroder be granted child visitation rights. The actor is also a father to Holden, 32, Luke, 30, and Cambrie, 27.

Following his divorce, Schroder had some run-ins with the law. He was arrested at his home in Topanga, California in May 2019 for felony domestic violence, police confirmed to PEOPLE at the time. Entertainment Tonight also reported that he had been allegedly involved in a similar incident a month prior, but was released on bond.

Schroder starred on Silver Spoons from 1982 to 1987 and on NYPD Blue from 1998 to 2001.
