RED ALERT! RED ALERT!

It’s that special time again. The moment when one of the cutest creatures on the planet gifts us with a smaller version of itself.

Zoo Atlanta’s giant panda Lun Lun is expecting a little cub of her own very soon. To celebrate this beautiful moment, the zoo and Animal Planet are giving passionate panda people the chance to watch the miracle of life live. A web cam has been set up in Lun Lun’s birthing den, so animal lovers can watch the bear give birth.

Veterinarians expect the arrival of the cub to occur in the next three weeks, so you may have a little waiting ahead of you — but you still get to look at an adorable panda 24/7, so no complaining.

This is Lun Lun’s sixth cub. Her first three black-and-white babies now reside at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China. Her fourth and fifth cubs, who are twins, live at Zoo Atlanta and are currently the only panda twins in the United States.
