Monaco's Charlotte Casiraghi and Boyfriend Gad Elmaleh 'Seeing More of Each Other Than Before'

They’ve been seen together more in the past three months than in their previous three years together, so are things back on between Monaco royal Charlotte Casiraghi and her boyfriend, French comedian-actor Gad Elmaleh?

With multiple public appearances since their split in early June, the couple have adopted an unusually public profile.

“They have been spending more time together,” a source tells PEOPLE of the pair, who attended the wedding of Charlotte’s brother Pierre in late July as well as a second celebration in Italy.

Casiraghi, 29, who is eighth in line to Monaco’s throne, and Elmaleh, 42, “are seeing more of each other than before,” the source adds. “But what goes on between them, no one really knows.”

Since coming together more than three years ago, the pair – who have a 19-month-old son, Raphael – have made discretion an essential part of their relationship. But since June, they’ve appeared together at a number of recent events. Elmaleh attended a circuit of Charlotte’s horse-jumping events in St. Tropez, Monaco and in Paris, where he walked his own father around the stalls and VIP areas.

The stand-up comic also performed in Monaco during Prince Albert’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

“Gad has a good relationship with Charlotte’s entire family,” explains one insider. “He’d promised Princess Stephanie personally long ago that he’d give a benefit performance for her Fight Aids Monaco charity.”

The couple were also very much in the spotlight at both wedding celebrations of Pierre and his new bride, Italian heiress and journalist Beatrice Borromeo.

At the July 25 Monaco civil ceremony, PEOPLE has confirmed Gad was a member of the private wedding party and seated extremely close to the groom during the service in the Palace’s Salle des Glace. While neither could be spotted in the balcony photos of the wedding party, sources indicate Gad was forced to leave the event early because of a scheduled concert appearance on France’s western coast.

Spotted together frequently, attending events and sharing time with their son, the mood “between them is evidently better,” says an observer.

The shift was on full display at the raucous Aug. 1 wedding in Italy, where the stylish royal – elegant in a flowing floral dress – and Elmaleh were all smiles and could be seen exchanging private jokes.

The couple reportedly departed together from Verbania, Italy, the morning after the wedding and sources suggest they spent Aug. 3 – which was Charlotte’s 29th birthday – together.
