Duggar Family: All About Jim Bob and Michelle's 19 Children

Several times this year, the Duggars have found themselves mired in scandal.

The initial scandal broke in May, when a 2006 police report revealed that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar‘s eldest son Josh had molested five underage girls as a teen. Two of his sisters, Jill (Duggar) Dillard and Jessa (Duggar) Seewald subsequently stepped forward as two of the victims.

Following the news, TLC officially canceled the family’s reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, after nine seasons.

In his statement regarding the molestation scandal, Josh claimed his mistakes were in the past – but three months later, reports revealed that he had signed up for Ashley Madison, a website that facilitates extramarital affairs. On Aug. 20, Josh and his parents broke their silence about the scandal with a statement in which Josh called himself “the biggest hypocrite ever” and confessed to a secret pornography addiction, as well as to cheating on his wife Anna.

Six days later, the Duggars announced Josh had checked himself into rehab.

While Josh and his parents continue to deal with the recent scandals surrounding the family (Jessa previously told PEOPLE, “You just have to keep your focus and trust God”), the rest of the vast brood has largely stayed under the radar.

Here’s a quick guide to what we know about the 19 children of Jim Bob, 50, and Michelle, 48.

JOSHUA JAMES DUGGAR

AGE: 27

Josh married Florida native Anna Duggar (née Keller) in 2008. Today, Josh and Anna, both 27, have four children together: Mackynzie, 5, Michael, 4, Marcus, 2, and Meredith Grace, 1 month. In the wake of his recent infidelity and pornography scandal, Josh is currently in what the family has called a “long-term treatment center” at an undisclosed location.

JANA MARIE DUGGAR

AGE: 25

On the show, the eldest Duggar daughter was shown practicing her midwifery skills with her sister Jill, but she took to the sidelines and admitted that she didn’t “necessarily want to be in charge of the entire situation.” As for her romantic life, Jana told PEOPLE in November 2014 that she was still waiting for the right person to engage in a courtship with (the Duggar way of dating): “I am just waiting and we’ll see,” she said. “When God brings that one along it will be his timing.”

JOHN-DAVID DUGGAR

AGE: 25

John-David and his twin sister Jana are the oldest Duggar kids still living at home. John-David has his pilot license and was seen on the show flying the family’s plane. The second eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle told PEOPLE in November 2014 that he was “open to advice” about getting married and joked that he was “such an expert in love and marriage.”

JILL MICHELLE DUGGAR

AGE: 24

Jill was the first Duggar daughter to tie the knot, marryingDerick Dillard in June 2014. Derick, 26, and Jill have a 4-month-old son, Israel David. The family is currently on a long-term mission trip in Central America.

JESSA LAUREN DUGGAR

AGE: 22

Jessa wedBen Seewald in November 2014. Ben, 20, and Jessa are expecting their first child Nov. 1, which is also their one-year wedding anniversary. While the Duggar siblings have made no public statement regarding brother Josh’s recent scandal, Jessa recently took to social media to subtly weigh in on the scandal with a Bible verse that preaches forgiveness.

JINGER NICOLE DUGGAR

AGE: 21

Jinger, known as an outspoken member of the Duggar clan on the show, served as the maid of honor at her sister Jessa’s wedding. Jim Bob told PEOPLE in November 2014 that Jinger is a “dynamic girl that a lot of guys have been interested in, but so far, she has not been interested in the guys.” According to the Duggars’ official Facebook page, Jinger is responsible for the family’s haircuts, and per her bio on the family website, Jinger is an avid traveler whose favorite quote is, “Seeking greatness for ourselves may bring temporary acclaim, but serving God results in lasting gain.”

JOSEPH GARRETT DUGGAR

AGE: 20

According to Jessa’s husband Ben, Joseph often works with him around the Duggar property in Tontitown, Arkansas, and he told PEOPLE in November 2014 that his brother-in-law is a “hard worker” and “very focused.” Joseph also told PEOPLE at the time that he definitely wants “to do the same route in courting and getting to know someone” in the way his siblings have.

JOSIAH MATTHEW DUGGAR

AGE: 19

Josiah – who turned 19 on Friday – recently ended his four-month courtship with Marjorie Jackson on Aug. 5. The two met when Josiah was taking Spanish lessons from Marjorie’s mother.

JOY-ANNA DUGGAR

AGE: 18

The musical daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle plays the violin, the piano and a little bit of mandolin. On one episode of the show, Joy-Anna gave a tour of the Duggar home’s music corner – and gave an impromptu concert with her brother Justin.

JEDIDIAH ROBERT DUGGAR

AGE: 16

The Duggar family ignited controversy when they shared a snap of Jedidiah posing inside the family home with a shotgun in December 2014 on their official Facebook page.

JEREMIAH ROBERT DUGGAR

AGE: 16

On one episode of the show, Jedidiah’s twin brother Jeremiah gave a tour of the home’s outdoor property, which includes a swing, a trampoline and a basketball/volleyball/tennis court. “It gets really crowded with 19 kids out here all at once,” said Jeremiah, adding that it was a lot of fun but also “a lot of competition.”

JASON MICHAEL DUGGAR

AGE: 15

In one episode of the show, Jason created quite a scare for the family when he was found in a pool of blood after a 12-ft. fall into the orchestra pit in the family’s music room.

JAMES ANDREW DUGGAR

AGE: 14

Now in his teens, a younger James got rather good at whipping up eggs for his brothers and sisters on earlier episodes of the show.

JUSTIN SAMUEL DUGGAR

AGE: 12

Justin often helped out around the house, cleaning the playroom and lending a hand with laundry.

JACKSON LEVI DUGGAR

AGE: 11

An earlier clip from the series shows young Jason giving viewers a rundown of his day, which includes bike riding and playing “King and Queen” with sister Johannah.

JOHANNAH FAITH DUGGAR

AGE: 10

Michelle took Johannah horseback riding in one episode in which fans learned that, if the Duggars owned one horse for each child, the family would go through 6,000 hay bales per year.

When her sister Jill was pregnant, young Jennifer correctly predicted their baby would be a boy.

Michelle and Jim Bob’s youngest child was born prematurely, and while she suffered from a perforated bowel at just 8 days old, Josie made a steady recovery. Still, all 18 of Josie’s siblings have to be vigilant about her health, as witnessed in one episode from the final season of 19 Kids and Counting when Josie had a seizure while Jim Bob and Michelle were away, truly putting siblings Jana and James’ emergency care skills (and nerves) to the test.
