How Jessa (Duggar) Seewald Played Matchmaker for Her Sister Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo: 'I Was a  Detective'

Jessa (Duggar) Seewald is one sneaky (but great) sister!

The Counting On star opens up to PEOPLE in this week’s issue about how she managed to play matchmaker for younger sister Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo.

“We knew from Jeremy, because we were good friends with him, that he had interest in Jinger,” says Seewald, 24. “We weren’t sure what she was thinking really so I remember talking to her and he would come up in conversation from time to time and then after they had the opportunity to go on a mission trip together she really got to see his heart and she fell in love with him. She was like, ‘He is such an amazing guy.’ Then, it was a couple months later when they were in an official relationship.”

The 22-year-old Duggar, who married her soccer player husband Jeremy Vuolo in Arkansas over the weekend, was ecstatic to begin her life with the man of her dreams.

“YES! We are married! We are so thankful to God, our parents and our wonderful families and friends for celebrating this day with us and for helping us arrive at this moment in time,” the couple wrote on their website after tying the knot. “We love that we now are beginning our lives together as one, before God.”

Vuolo, 28, popped the question to Jinger in July, just a month after the couple officially announced they were courting.

Because Jessa, her husband Ben Seewald and her sister Jill met Jeremy before Jinger had the chance too, they took full advantage of the possible matchmaking opportunity.

“We went down to visit a few times and he was like, ‘Wow she seems like a really great girl,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah! Let me tell you all about her,’ ” Jessa says. “She is the most amazing girl ever and [Jill and I] kind of played detective and undercover like telling Jinger about Jeremy and Jeremy about Jinger. We were really excited, but now that I think about it, I’m like, ‘She’s moving 12 hours away! Like, let’s think this through.’ In that way it’s mixed emotions. We are really excited for her but when I think about her being away I start bawling! We’ll make some trip down to visit.”
