Netflix's America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders caught the attention of viewers around the globe, with fans quickly becoming invested in the complex lives of the highly devoted NFL cheerleaders. 

The seven-episode docuseries captures the high-stakes world of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders as they undergo rigorous tryouts and intense training to secure a coveted spot on the team for the 2023 season. The series not only highlights the technical skills and physical endurance required, but also delves into the personal lives and struggles of the cheerleaders.

From rookies striving to impress director Kelli Finglass to veterans aiming to maintain their positions, the docuseries showcases a raw and emotional portrayal of their journeys. 

As the series progresses, viewers become immersed in the intimate details of the cheerleaders’ lives — both professionally and personally. The show touches on themes of body image, mental health and the pressures of maintaining the perfect look as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, all while balancing relationships, second jobs and personal aspirations. 

Since the premiere in June 2024, many of the cheerleaders have embarked on new adventures, both within and outside the DCC. From marriages and new career paths to relocations and future projects, here's where the stars of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are now.

Victoria Kalina

Victoria Kalina’s passionate but fraught relationship with DCC was a crucial emotional thread throughout the series. Kalina openly discussed her struggles with body image and disordered eating, as well as the uncertainty of whether she'd reached the ceiling of how much she could grow within the team, despite being a fourth-year veteran.

Kalina's emotional arc throughout the show highlighted the complexity of both living your dream, and sometimes finding it a pressure point of one's toughest struggles.

While Kalina initially planned to return for a fifth season, she says in the last few minutes of the series finale that she's "decided to hang up [her] pom poms."

During a YouTube Q&A in June 2024, Kalina confirmed that she decided to leave the DCC and move to New York City. 

“I’ve always known that after cheering for the Cowboys I wanted to continue my dance journey in New York City,” Kalina said in the video, adding that she’s training for the Radio City Rockette auditions.

“I know it’s a very competitive and rigorous audition process,” she said. “I am going to put in that work but I’m also going to be so open to any and all opportunities that are out there.”

Reece Weaver

Rookie Reece Weaver became a fan favorite after making the team as a rookie during the 2023 season. In April 2024, Weaver married her college sweetheart, Will Allman, who also appeared on the show. The couple wed at The Barn At Cottonwood Ranch in Callahan, Fla., surrounded by family and friends, including many of her DCC costars.

Since tying the knot, Weaver has continued her journey with the DCC. She auditioned for the squad again in June 2024 and made the team as a second-year veteran for the 2024 season.

Kelcey Wetterberg

Kelcey Wetterberg, who is introduced on the show as a five-year veteran, became a major part of the series as she announced it would be her final season as a DCC. During the series, Wetterberg worked as a full-time pediatric nurse, saying that DCC is "more of a part time job." Still, Wetterberg's devotion to the DCC squad never goes unnoticed throughout the show, with Wetterberg often getting emotional about her final year, or noting the ways in which the team has been a formative part of her life.

The DCC retiree and medical professional is now planning her wedding to fiancé Nate Crnkovich, whose proposal was featured on the show. 

In June, Wetterberg posted on Instagram that she “found [her] dream dress” at a bridal shop in Dallas.

Anna Kate Sundvold

Anna Kate Sundvold also made the squad as a rookie in 2023. Much of her story centered on her relationship with her sister Caroline, a DCC vet who was recovering from injuries sustained during her time on the team. While initially concerned with being overshadowed by her sister's legacy, Anna Kate steps out into her own identity within the organization.

Besides her cheerleading commitments, Anna Kate graduated from Texas Christian University in May 2023 with a degree in business administration. In October 2023, she started a job as a financial planner in Dallas, per her LinkedIn. Her boyfriend, Michael Snyder, completed his master's degree from TCU in May, with Anna Kate congratulating him on Instagram with the caption, “He mastered it.”

Following her rookie year, Anna Kate also tried out for the squad again in June 2024, and made the team.

Caroline Sundvold

By the time fans met Caroline Sundvold on the show, she was a recent retiree from the squad and recovering from injuries sustained while on the team. However, she continued to work closely with the squad and support her younger sister, Anna Kate, through the process.

Throughout the show, Caroline expressed uncertainty about her trajectory post retirement as well as grieving DCC as something that is no longer actively in her life. By the end of the show, however, Caroline was optimistic about what lied ahead, saying 2024 is going to be her "comeback year."

In February 2024, Caroline started working as an account manager for medical equipment manufacturer Stryker in Dallas, per her LinkedIn page.

Kat Puryear

Kat Puryear garnered attention for her candid revelation on the show about the compensation of cheerleaders, comparing it to that of a “substitute teacher” or a “Chick-fil-A worker that works full time.”

After the show aired, Puryear posted a TikTok in June 2024, further expanding on compensation and pay as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Her transparency has sparked important conversations about compensation in the sport.

After retiring from the DCC in 2023, Puryear continues to be associated with the organization as an alumni, regularly attending events for the team.

Camille Sturdivant

Camille Sturdivant made the team during the show, and was honored with the Rookie of the Year award, which she expressed gratitude for in March 2024 on Instagram.

“I’m so thankful for the women of @dccheerleaders, and for every person that has poured into me this season to become a better performer, professional, and person,” she wrote. “To be selected as the recipient of the Rookie of the Year award is truly an honor beyond belief.”

Sturdivant made the team as a second-year veteran on the 2024 squad. 

Kelly Villares

Kelly Villares’ deep passion for dance from a young age touched fans, especially as her parents (now divorced) shared that they stayed married throughout her youth in part so they could afford her lessons.

Ultimately, however, Villares was cut from the squad in episode three of the series, mostly due to her lack of experience with DDC’s choreography — despite having over 20 years of experience in other realms of dance. Still, Villares’ determination continued on. The New Jersey native returned to auditions, and made it onto the team as a rookie for the 2024 season.

"I cannot believe I'm even typing this, I am a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader," the dancer posted on her Instagram story following the news.

Charly Barby

Charly Barby’s journey was marked by disappointment after being dropped from training camp in the final cut. In July 2023, Barby posted an emotional Instagram Reel reflecting on her experience, writing, “If you told me at the beginning of this year that I was going to make it to the last cut in Training Camp I would have never believed you.”

Barby added that it was “the experience of a lifetime,” and “I’ll see you next year ;)."

Like several of her fellow rookie hopefuls from the previous season, Barby returned to auditions, made it to training camp and secured a spot on the squad.

"My literal dream come true!!!! I would not change a thing and honored does not even describe how I feel!," Barby commented on DCC's Instagram reveal of the upcoming team's rookies and veterans.

Anisha Kurukulasuriya

While orthodontist Anisha Kurukulasuriya impressed the judges with her Bollywood-inspired solo and made it into training camp, she was ultimately cut and did not return for the 2024 tryouts. 

Kurukulasuriya serves as an ambassador for the National Desi Dance League, and splits her time between L.A. and Dallas, teaching dance classes and workshops dubbed “BollyFusion.” 

Ari McClure

Ari McClure ultimately didn’t make the cut as a DCC after Charlotte Jones expressed concern that she might be too short. However, McClure went on to make the squad as a Miami Dolphins cheerleader, she announced in June 2024 on Instagram.

“If I’ve learned anything, it’s that everything happens for a reason and I couldn’t be more excited to announce I’m officially an NFL CHEERLEADER @dolphinscheer,” the dancer wrote.

Madeline Salter

Madeline Salter was a third-year veteran at the time of the series. Her journey became particularly emotional as the dancer and her mother, a DCC alum, spoke of her father’s struggles with mental health and untimely death — which occurred during Salter’s 2022 season as a DCC. Despite her grief, Salter continued to dance, noting faith and passion as her motivators to keep pressing forward amid the challenging time.

"I just knew I had a job to fulfill," Salter said on the show. "You're here for a reason, and you need to do it. Dad had a saying growing up, 'Someone's gotta do it, might as well be you.' "

Following auditions and training camp, Salter has returned as a fourth-year veteran on the squad.

Sophy Laufer

In the series, Sophy Laufer returns for her second year as a DCC, but wasn’t seen until the show’s final episode. After Laufer was inappropriately grabbed by an on-field photographer during the Thanksgiving 2023 game, she wanted to pursue charges and spoke to police, but there wasn't enough evidence to proceed. Still, her bravery and vulnerability inspired fans.

Laufer remains committed to the team and made it onto the squad as a third-year veteran for the 2024 season.
