The winners of several country, American roots, and Americana awards have been announced at the 2024 Grammys. Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Allison Russell, and Brandy Clark were among those honored for their work.
Chris Stapleton won Best Country Solo Performance for the song “White Horse.” He was nominated alongside Brandy Clark (“Buried”), Dolly Parton (“The Last Thing on My Mind”), Luke Combs (“Fast Car”), and Tyler Childers (“In Your Love”).
The winner of Best Country Song was also Chris Stapleton’s “White Horse.” It was nominated alongside Brandy Clark’s “Buried,” Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night,” Tyler Childers’ “In Your Love,” and the Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves collaboration “I Remember Everything.”
Allison Russell won Best American Roots Performance for “Eve Was Black.” Other nominees included Blind Boys of Alabama, Jon Batiste, Madison Cunningham, and Rhiannon Giddens.
Best Americana Performance went to Brandy Clarke and Brandi Carlile, for “Dear Insecurity,” over fellow nominees Allison Russell, Blind Boys of Alabama, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and Tyler Childers.
Jason Isbell won Best American Roots Song for his song with the 400 Unit “Cast Iron Skillet,” which was nominated alongside music by Allison Russell, Billy Strings featuring Willie Nelson, Brandy Clark with Brandi Carlile, and Best New Artist nominees the War and Treaty.
Best Americana Album went to Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s Weathervanes, which took the award over albums by Allison Russell, Brandy Clark, Rodney Crowell, and Rhiannon Giddens.
And, well after the first run of awards was handed out, Best Country Duo/Group Performance went to Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves for their song “I Remember Everytthing.” Other nominees in the category included Brothers Osborne (“Nobody’s Nobody”), Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton (“We Don’t Fight Anymore”), Dierks Bentley with Billy Strings (“High Note”), Jelly Roll with Lainey Wilson (“Save Me”), and Vince Gill with Paul Franklin (“Kissing Your Picture (Is So Cold)”).
