The nominees for the 2024 Grammy Award for Album of the Year have all been revealed. Taylor Swift’s Midnights will compete against SZA’s highly-anticipated LP SOS, Lana Del Rey’s latest, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, and Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore effort, Guts. Also in the running are Boygenius’ debut full-length, The Record, Janelle Monáe’s The Age of Pleasure, Miley CyrusEndless Summer Vacation, and World Music Radio by Jon Batiste.

Swift’s Album of the Year nod marks her sixth nomination in the category, putting her in a tie with Barbra Streisand for most Album of the Year nominations by a female artist. If Midnights is victorious, Swift will become the first artist to win Album of the Year four times. Her current three wins—for Fearless, 1989, and Folklore—put her in an elite group with other three-time winners Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder.

Swift is also up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance, all for “Anti-Hero,” as well as Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights and Best Pop Duo/Group performance for “Karma,” featuring Ice Spice.

SOS is SZA’s first studio LP to receive an Album of the Year nomination at the Grammys. SZA won her first golden gramophone in 2022, earning the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance trophy alongside Doja Cat for their hit single “Kiss Me More.” This year, the singer and songwriter will compete in nine categories total. In addition to Album of the Year, she’s up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best R&B Performance, all for “Kill Bill.”

SOS also earned her a nod for Best Progressive R&B Album, while tracks like “Love Language,” “Snooze,” and “Low” are up for Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Melodic Rap Performance, respectively. SZA is once again nominated in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category—alongside fellow Grammy nominee Phoebe Bridgers—for “Ghost in the Machine.”

Lana Del Rey could pick up her very first Grammy win this year; in addition to Album of the Year, she is up for Song of the Year and Best Alternative Music Performance, both for “A&W,” Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Candy Necklace,” alongside Jon Batiste, and Best Alternative Music Album, for Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

Boygenius are celebrating their first-ever Grammy nominations this year. The supergroup of Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus placed in six categories total, including Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song, all for “Not Strong Enough.” “Cool About It” also got nominated for Best Alternative Music Performance, while The Record is also up for Best Alternative Music Album.

Olivia Rodrigo swept up quite a few trophies at the 2022 Grammy Awards, including ones for Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance for “Drivers License,” and Best Pop Vocal Album for her debut LP Sour. Now, she’s back with six total nominations. Guts will compete for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, while lead single “Vampire” got nods in the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance slots. “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl,” meanwhile, earned Rodrigo a nomination for Best Rock Song—her first-ever placement in a rock category.
