All they have to do is find a link to your LinkedIn profile, view it, and accept or reject your application! Therefore, the need for resumes has now been almost completely eradicated! A Brief History! Resumes used to be the first document employers would request in order to evaluate whether you’re the perfect fit for the job they’re offering. Resumes, themselves, haven’t changed at all! But the growth in tech as well as the emergence of media platforms such as LinkedIn has led to their importance decreasing significantly! Now, all employers are looking for is your LinkedIn profile to perform a quick review and decide on your future in the company! Some Important Statistics! LinkedIn has about 830 million users worldwide! In 2024, it has been recorded that the largest age group on LinkedIn is currently 25 to 34 years old. This demographic makes up 60.1% of its user base! Apart from this 97% of HR and staffing professionals use LinkedIn as their primary tool to recruit candidates perfect for their job. Final Note: According to James David, the integration of your resume with your LinkedIn profile allows recruiters to easily assess your professional background and skills. Looking at all of these statistics, it’s clear that LinkedIn is the place to be if you’re stuck looking for a job. By using your profile as a resume, recruiters are able to see exactly what you can offer whether it be through your skills or other talents!
