Made worse. New recents is annoying because its a mess of photos. In the past when i took a camera picture, or video, or screenshot. Those respective folders would be under "recents", so all new camera pics could be found and moved together. Also, moving things from recents no longer removes them from recents view. So it's just a billboard for todays pictures, no longer a pile that can be sorted down and out of the way.

I'm very unhappy and frustrated that when I add new files to the music directory the files application will not display the new audio for a very long time. Previously pulling down to refresh would make new files show up (and also be available for my music player app) but it now appears to do nothing. Some of this might be android changes (I also can't see the external application data in the app, which is maddening), but Google should fix this.

The new format sucks. It is full of clutter now. I don't need every ringtone that came with the phone to be listed in recents. This redesign was done for job justification purposes only and provides absolutely nothing of value to the end user. Change only for the sake of change. FUD. Get rid of recents and put the device folders back at the top.

What's new

We’ve improved the Recents section. Now you can:
- View up to 10 recent files, making it quicker to access the files you need.
- Share, delete, and star without having to open a file.
- View all your files in one place using a “See all” button.
Bug fixes and minor improvements.
