I fell in love with WordPress while running a personal blog through which I managed to meet some really strong friendships that outlived the blog and are still going strong. At the time, I was studying for my marketing degree, subsequently moving on to working in marketing as a very demanding, hands on buyer of websites. Guess which CMS I pledged my eternal loyalty to? (hint: not Drupal). A few years and a second degree in Computer Science later, a friend whom I’ve met through the personal blog is friends with the hiring manager for an open position as the WordPress Product Marketing Manager at one.com and three interviews later I had a WCEU22 ticket in my hand. My appreciation for WordPress is never ending, and the respect for this wonderful community even stronger.
