6 Days of Camp

Imagine sneaking on your belly through the brush to catch a glimpse of a young fawn or walking barefoot through the forest listening for bird calls and the rush of the creek to find your way back to the fire…Ravenwood kids experience high impact moments like these every day during Wilderness Kids Club, and they usually come home tired, dirty, and happy because of it!

“I love camp! I get to make forts, learn songs and lots of other fun things. Best of all I get to make new friends.” Emma Treweiler, camper

Learning through our senses is powerful stuff. Nature provides unlimited possibilities for curiosity and wonder and a plethora of healthy stimuli for the mind, body, and spirit to explore and develop. Our expert mentors are here to support your child’s journey of discovery and awareness through the development of life skills (fire making/tending, basketry, wood working, animal and bird tracking, plant medicines and food, and group and individual communication skills).

“Our children absolutely loved Wilderness Camp and teaching us their skills, songs, games, and fun! It’s such a high quality, fun program with rich, rich learning for the entire family. We’re so thankful for this incredible program.” Nikki and Doug Reed, parents

We are committed to knowing our students as individuals and mentoring them accordingly. Our staff takes extra time every day to prepare activities and debrief our experiences with the goal of matching our efforts with the observed needs of each child in the group. You simply won’t find a summer camp anywhere else that invests the kind of time we do to create the richest possible learning environment for your child, and we do it because we love it!

“Thank you for offering such a great experience!  My Simma is raised by two non-wilderness parents. When we signed Simma up, we weren’t sure how it would go, but each day she came home with a new song and new dirt under her nails.  She was thrilled! When we visited camp the last day, I was amazed at the confidence she had being outside at camp. She had become a little nature child in that 1 short session of Mondays and Tuesdays.” -Chelsea Lefcourt, parent

NOTE: Campers are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the first day of camp. Even if your camper has been coming to Ravenwood for many years, the first week is an essential time for understanding safety and establishing a healthy and happy social group. Set your camper up for success!
