Do I have more control over my reviews if I use your software?

No. Yelp’s recommendation software is responsible for all review content on our platform and any partnership or payment to Yelp will not impact your business’ reviews.

Do you charge cover fees?

Never! We believe restaurants deserve predictable partners. You have enough chaos in your life. Our software costs one simple price per month.

Could I use two Front of House systems at once?

Based on client experiences, we recommend using one system, but we have trained our Success Managers to support restaurants that balance multiple systems for their FOH operations.

How will Yelp for Restaurants promote my business?

Your business will be highlighted in search pages relating to waitlist and reservations alongside the largest diner network in the US. But if your goal is to increase diners, we recommend learning more about our cost-per-click advertising options.

Can I cancel if this doesn't work for my restaurant?

We offer month-to-month subscriptions but, if you committed to an annual contract, you’d have to pay an early termination fee to cancel.

Do we have control over when the waitlist is available?

Yes. You can schedule waitlist availability based on shifts with your Success Manager.

How will my staff learn how to use the software?

We’ll pair you with a Success Manager to train your team. Trainings take place over the phone once you receive your iPad. Our goal is to make sure your team feels comfortable and prepared during their shifts. They can also reach our team at 877-571-9357.

How do I see how my ads are performing?

You can track data and customize ads performance in your Business Owner Account.

Why doesn't my ad show up when I do a search in my area?

Ad appearances are cycled through all existing partners when a relevant search is made. Since we have thousands of businesses advertising on Yelp, you may not see your ad every time you do a search.

Does advertising help my reviews or ratings?

Absolutely not. There is no amount of money a business can pay Yelp to alter reviews or ratings, and we treat reviews for advertisers and non-advertisers exactly the same. Claims to the contrary have been investigated and rejected by the FTC, in multiple courtrooms, by independent scholarly studies and in the media

Why are some reviews recommended vs. not recommended?

Some reviews are less reliable (like ones we see coming from the same IP address) and some suggest an unfair bias (like ones written by a friend of the business owner). We also may not recommend reviews from less active users because we don’t know enough about them to recommend their opinions. It’s important to note that no Yelp employee can manually override the software to recommend or not recommend a review.

What do I do if a review isn't true?

If you come across a review that might violate Yelp’s guidelines, let our human moderators know by reporting it. Keep in mind that you may still need to claim your business page in order to report content from a business account.

How many more covers will I get?

Front-of-house software likely won’t generate more covers. It’ll make it easier to book a table, but turning on reservations doesn’t make a restaurant busy overnight. Combining great FOH software with advertising works wonders, though! Restaurants that combine Yelp Ads with Yelp Guest Manager see up to an 8% monthly lift in guest bookings through Yelp.
