Each year, the Met Gala’s theme gives A-list attendees the opportunity for a wide range of sartorial interpretation. This time around, its theme (“Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”) and adjacent dress code (“The Garden of Time,” a nod to the 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard) guaranteed one thing: There would be flowers. Guests took to all types of floral motifs in their garments, from appliqué gowns to giant rosette lapels. While the adornment also included a few flower-inspired jewelry moments (such as Amanda Seyfried’s Chaumet diamond tiara), most of the jewelry balanced out all of the blooms with classic designs, shapes and cuts, done mostly in diamonds, plus a few major emerald moments from the likes of Cardi B and Kris Jenner. As for the men of the red carpet? They continued the decorative brooch trend, even adding multiples for a veritable garden of gems on their lapels.

All three brooches came from Tiffany & Co’s Jean Schlumberger collection, including the brand’s iconic Bird on a Rock brooch.

Gigi Hadid in Chopard
With an intricate Thom Browne floral gown that took some 2.8 million beads and 5,000 hours to create, Gigi Hadid’s Chopard diamond pieces were refreshingly simple. The French brand’s white and yellow gold necklace from its high jewelry collection included 26.24-carats of yellow diamonds and 25.65-carats of white diamonds, which were matched with a pair of earrings featuring 28.81-carats of pear-shaped yellow diamonds and white diamonds and a 10.26-carat rectangular cut yellow diamond ring, plus a diamond infinity band from its L´Heure du Diamant collection.

Blue Book collection, including a necklace set in platinum and yellow gold with a 20-plus-carat center diamond and accompanying diamonds. Lopez wore the matching diamond, gold and platinum bracelet and matched the maximalist jewelry look with a couture Schiaparelli gown.

The actress paired Bleu Infini pear-shaped aquamarine pendant earrings from the brand’s Timeless High Jewelry collection with a matching aquamarine and diamond ring.

It was paired with an equally intricate diamond necklace and bracelet set from the brand’s “Tweed Pastel” jewelry collection, along with its “Tweed Mademoiselle” ring in 18K white gold and diamonds and “Bouton de Camélia” diamond earrings.
