Roll Call is the premier source of timely news, objective facts and analysis, and coverage of elections and the politics of legislation. We keep our fingers on the pulse of the legislative process and give our readers the tools they need to maximize their influence. We are the ultimate insider, and our unmatched network of relationships and expertise has powered the productivity of those who rely on us since 1955.

Our History

Sid Yudain founded Roll Call in 1955 because he was interested in telling the stories of the people and personalities on Capitol Hill. “When I came to Congress it just seemed that this was the most important community in the world,” Yudain recalled. “The only news coming out of Congress was about legislation,” he continued, “which bored me, and I think bored most people, including some of the Congressmen.”

Our Mission

In a world of media spin and special interest bias, Roll Call has stayed true to its roots. From Capitol Hill hearing rooms to campaign war rooms, from the White House to the House and Senate floors, Roll Call covers Congress, inside and out.
