Show Special Guest

Appearing LIVE at this year’s North Jersey High School Sports Awards will be none other than New York Giant’s Quarterback, Tommy DeVito. At the event, he will provide an inspirational talk with a question and answer session.

About Tommy DeVito

A New Jersey native, Tommy grew up in Cedar Grove and attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School. During his junior season, the Ironmen went 9-3 and won the Non-Public 4 State Championship. After a stellar senior year, where he passed for 2,005 years, 16 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, and played in the Under Armour All-American Game, he committed to play college football at Syracuse University. Redshirting his true freshman season, DeVito was Syracuse’s starting quarterback for three seasons before entering the transfer portal and landing at Illinois. Named the starting quarterback for the 2022 season, DeVito passed for 2,650 years, 15 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions for the Fighting Illini.

On April 29, 2023, the New York Giants signed Tommy as an un-drafted free agent. Taking advantage of injuries to the Giants’ first and second-string quarterbacks, Tommy made his NFL debut on October 29, 2023. In Week 10, he was named the Giants’ starting quarterback. One week later, in Week 11, he won Rookie of the Week honors against the Commanders when he passed for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. The highlight of Tommy’s season, however, was against the Green Bay Packers in Week 14 where he went 17 for 21 with 158 passing yards, throwing one TD, with 71 rushing yards on 10 carries and no interceptions. With about 1:30 left on the clock, Tommy went 4 for 4, driving his team down the field setting up the winning field goal by Randy Bullock as time expired. He was named NFC Offensive Player of the Game and the Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week for his efforts.

Tommy quickly established himself as a huge fan favorite, going from an un-drafted, third string quarterback during his rookie season to leading the Giants to several wins in an otherwise underachieving season. He capped off his season by winning the Bud Light Celebration of the Year Award at the 13th Annual NFL Honors after he made the Italian pinch his signature celebration after every touchdown scored. Tommy is looking to build off his rookie year success in the upcoming 2024-25 NFL season.
