Bryson DeChambeau is at 7-under-par 203 and will take a 3-stroke lead into Sunday’s final round at Pinehurst Resort & C.C. (Course No. 2; 7,543 yards, par 70). DeChambeau is No. 6 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

Pre-tournament favorite Scottie Scheffler (+333 to open the week) is tied for 42nd place at 6-over after rounds of 71-74-71. Defending champion Wyndham Clark, who won at 10-under 270, is tied for 32nd place at 5-over after shooting 73-71-71. He opened at +6600 to win.

Bryson DeChambeau (-125)

He shot a 3-under 67 Saturday after a 67-69 start and will try for his 9th career tour title. The 2020 U.S. Open champ, who has the 54-hole lead for the 1st time in a major, has made 23 1-putts in 3 rounds.

Matthieu Pavon (+1600)

The 31-year-old pro, who opened at +15000 to win, shot a 1-under 69 Saturday to go with a 67-70 and will try to become the 1st player from France to win the U.S. Open. The No. 97 player in Golfweek’s rankings has 1 tour win (Farmers Insurance Open) in 20 tournaments.

2024 U.S. Open – In the hunt

Before the final group tees off at 2:21 p.m. ET (9 a.m. -noon ET USA; noon.-7 p.m. ET NBC), here are 4 other players to watch as they try to chase down DeChambeau.

Rory McIlroy (+333): Golfweek’s No. 3 player starts tied for 2nd place, 3 shots back at 4-under after rounds of 65-72-69. The 1st-round co-leader opened at +1200.

Patrick Cantlay (+800): The 1st-round co-leader also starts tied for 2nd at 4-under after rounds of 65-71-70. Golfweek’s No. 7 player opened at +5000 to win.

Ludvig Aberg (+1600): Golfweek’s No. 4 player starts tied for 5th place, 5 shots back at 2-under after rounds of 66-69-73. The 2nd-round leader opened at +1800.

Hideki Matsuyama (+2000): Also starts tied for 5th place after rounds of 72-66-70. Golfweek’s No. 13 player opened at +4000.
