The Spurs announced on April 1 that Sochan (left ankle impingement) will undergo surgery and miss the rest of the season.
Sochan is expected to be healthy for training camp, where he'll try to build off a sophomore season in which he made modest improvements compared to his rookie campaign. The defensive specialist averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 rebounds in 74 games while increasing his 3-point percentage, though his overall field goal rate declined from 45.3 percent as a rookie to 43.8 percent.
The Rockets are not expected to make a move for Johnson during the offseason, according to Kelly Iko of The Athletic.
The Rockets could use a player with the offensive skill set of Johnson, but the Spurs are not expected to entertain offers for him. Johnson averaged 15.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in 2023-24, though it's fair to say his scoring numbers experienced a decrease compared to previous years. After all, he averaged 22.0 points per game in 2022-23.
Sochan has been included on Poland's 17-man preliminary roster for the Olympic qualifying tournament to be held in July, according to Eurohoops.
Poland's roster has yet to be finalized, but since Sochan is the only NBA player on the roster, he seems to be a lock to participate in the event. Sochan previously won a gold medal with Poland at an under-16 championship in 2019 and also represented the country at the EuroBasket 2022 qualifiers. He averaged 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for the Spurs in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Mamukelashvili is being linked with a potential return to Europe ahead of the 2024-25 season, according to Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops.
Mamukelashvili had some decent moments playing for the Spurs during the 2023-24 season, and he's racked up over 100 appearances at the NBA level between Milwaukee and San Antonio. He doesn't have a lot of professional experience in Europe, but he's accustomed to the European style due to his stints with the Georgian national team.
Wembanyama is reportedly intrigued by the possibility of playing alongside Trae Young, Tim MacMahon of ESPN stated on The Hoop Collective podcast. "I will say I've talked to people who know Wemby who have indicated he is at least intrigued by that idea," he said. "Now, intrigued by that idea and pounding the table are two very different things. I have no idea whether Gregg Popovich would be intrigued by the idea."
Wembanyama won the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year award and came up second in the voting for the Defensive Player of the Year. The star big man could thrive playing alongside a creative floor general like Young, but it's unclear whether the Spurs would be open to making a move for the All-Star point guard. Sochan has been included on Poland's 17-man preliminary roster for the Olympic qualifying tournament to be held in July, according to Eurohoops.
Poland's roster has yet to be finalized, but since Sochan is the only NBA player on the roster, he seems to be a lock to participate in the event. Sochan previously won a gold medal with Poland at an under-16 championship in 2019 and also represented the country at the EuroBasket 2022 qualifiers. Mamukelashvili had some decent moments playing for the Spurs during the 2023-24 season, and he's racked up over 100 appearances at the NBA level between Milwaukee and San Antonio. He doesn't have a lot of professional experience in Europe, but he's accustomed to the European style due to his stints with the Georgian national team.
Wembanyama is reportedly intrigued by the possibility of playing alongside Trae Young, Tim MacMahon of ESPN stated on The Hoop Collective podcast. "I will say I've talked to people who know Wemby who have indicated he is at least intrigued by that idea," he said. "Now, intrigued by that idea and pounding the table are two very different things. I have no idea whether Gregg Popovich would be intrigued by the idea."

The star big man could thrive playing alongside a creative floor general like Young, but it's unclear whether the Spurs would be open to making a move for the All-Star point guard. Vassell was diagnosed with a left foot stress reaction on April 1 and ruled out for the rest of the season.

He finished his fourth NBA season averaging a career-high 19.5 points per game and after signing an extension, will be a key piece in San Antonio's rebuild in the coming years.

The Spurs announced on April 1 that Sochan (left ankle impingement) will undergo surgery and miss the rest of the season.
Sochan is expected to be healthy for training camp, where he'll try to build off a sophomore season in which he made modest improvements compared to his rookie campaign. The defensive specialist averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 rebounds in 74 games while increasing his 3-point percentage, though his overall field goal rate declined from 45.3 percent as a rookie to 43.8 percent.
