9.–10.08 | Car-Free Avenue
On Friday and Saturday, the street food area is set up on Car-Free Avenue to offer new and familiar flavours. There is an opportunity to dine in exclusive pop-up restaurants or grab a bite from street food trucks and relax in the picnic area. A rich selection of drinks and wines from all around the world can be enjoyed.

10.–11.08 | Setomaa, Seto Külävüü
On these days, you will hear the sounds of musical instruments and traditional Seto singing called Seto leelo, see the beauty of Seto traditional clothes and have the dishes made using grandmothers’ recipes caress your tastebuds. Enjoy traditional Seto dishes as well as new delicacies made of local produce. Let the hospitality of Setos entertain you!

Drive about 15 minutes from Tartu and. embark on the almost 8 km long food tasting journey in Kastre municipality from Suurekivi crossroads to Sillaotsa school or vice versa. The gates and in some places the doors of the homes open to the home cafes that offer delicious local flavours. There is a selection of both savoury and sweet, as well as soft and crispy delicacies.

Organic Lamb Celebration is a series of events trying to find answers to the question of what could be a modern and sustainable way of living in rural Estonia. The big family event “Country meets city” farm food fair is an event created especially for Estonian farm food producers, giving them the opportunity to sell their products directly to consumers. Pop-up farm restaurants will also be present at the event, offering visitors the opportunity to taste local food. In addition, children and families can spend time getting to know the farm animals.

Peipsi Food Street 175 km is the annual “Peipsi Food” festival in August, which celebrates the traditional food and culture of the Peipsi region. It follows the coastline of Lake Peipus from Vasknarva to Saabolda in Setomaa, Estonia. A total of 45 two-day pop-up restaurants will be opened on August 17 from 11 am to 9 pm and on August 18 from 11 am to 5 pm.

The latest trends in street food – from Ukrainian cuisine to Italian gelato – are offered by on-wheel food makers from Estonia and neighbouring countries. More than 50 food trucks will offer both – fine-dining taste experiences and familiar favourites. The concert and entertainment program of the event is put together by the youth of Elva in cooperation with the organizers.

The Kavastu Ukha and Fish Festival starts with the fish soup cooking competition in the Kavastu Manor Park. In addition to the fish soup competition, there will be several fishing-themed and aquatic life-introducing workshops for all age groups. Musicians set the mood and get the party going. The unique Kavastu raft is open.

It brings people closer to school lunches and dispels myths from that school food is bad. The week of open dining halls culminates with a family day, which brings together local farmers and entrepreneurs who offer their produce to both private individuals and caterers. You can find food-themed activities for both children as well as grown-ups – from workshops to theatre.
