22 TV Dads We’d Want in Our Corner
16. John Kennish (Switched at Birth)
John Kennish and his family got news that would change their lives when they found out their daughter, Bay, was switched at the hospital hours after she was born. Suddenly, John wasn’t just the parent to one daughter, but two.
Over the course of the series, John navigates the space within his new daughter’s life while trying to stay connected with Bay. He learns sign language, coach’s Daphne’s basketball team, and stays engaged in Bay’s art. He can be pushy and tough on them, but it usually comes from a good place, and while it’s rocky at first the two families ultimately blend together.
17. Louis Huang (Fresh Off the Boat)
Louis Huang is a dad who moves his family from Washington D.C. to Florida for a fresh start and the chance to open a Cattleman’s Ranch.
He has three sons but he also desperately wants his restaurant to succeed as his way to realize the American Dream. While he cares for and loves his family he often promotes his restaurant at inopportune times.
18. Mike Baxter (Last Man Standing)
Last Man Standing’s Mike Baxter is the guy’s guy in a house filled with women. He runs a sporting good’s store where he often does a vlog talking about what it’s like to raise his teenage daughters.
Off camera, he always does his best to teach them right from wrong while still supporting them in whatever they decide to do. He opens The Outdoor Man Grille with Kristen. He supports Eve’s choice to pursue music. He helps Mandy manage her fashion business. When all is said and done, he’s a dad you want in your corner when things get rough.

19. Jack Pearson (This Is Us)
A TV dads list wouldn’t be complete without Jack Pearson. Jack has always been a dad who’s firm but supportive.
He takes Kate to an Alanis Morrisette signing at Jerry’s Records after seeing that she’s skipping school. He visits Howard University with Randall when he’s looking at colleges. He bonds with Kevin over football.
Even though Jack died when they were teenagers, these memories have left an indelible imprint on their lives.
20. Eric Taylor (Friday Night Lights)
You can’t say that Eric Taylor didn’t know how to give an inspirational speech! He not only raised two daughters but also parented kids that weren’t his own. As the coach of the Dillon Panthers and East Dillon Lions, he molded these kids into adults and helped them realize their full potential.
21. Dan Connor (Roseanne)
Dan Connor was the foil to his wife Roseanne. He’s a blue-collar dad that struggles to make ends meet, but he’s also easy-going and hardworking. While he may have a tough parenting style, he’s tender and loving towards his wife and children.
22. John Winchester (Supernatural)
John Winchester may not be the most involved father on this list, but he definitely did what he could to make sure Sam and Dean were protected. He raised two kids on the road while fighting to protect innocent lives, and taught Sam and Dean essential skills for a demon hunting lifestyle.
Thanks to John, Sam and Dean know how to pack a shotgun shell with salt, basic triage, and essential Latin. Plus, Sam and Dean have saved the world several times, so I bet you that John Winchester would be proud of his boys.

I would’ve loved to see Sheriff Stilinski from Teen Wolf on this list. He took in all his sons friends as his own kids, plus he raised his highly energetic kid all alone after his wife died.
