26 TV Shows We Lost in 2018 (And 6 That Were Saved) (continued):
9. Inhumans

SONYA BALMORES, SERINDA SWAN, IWAN RHEON
Another Marvel series that won’t be returning in 2019 is Inhumans. This series explored the never-before-told adventures of the Inhuman royal family, including Black Bolt.
It originally saw a two-episode IMAX premiere before moving to its regular time slot on ABC. However, the eight-episode season did not perform well and was canceled in May.
10. Dietland
![DIET_108_PH_0302_0648-RT](https://www.telltaletv.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/DIET_108_PH_0302_0648-RT.jpg)
AMC trimmed down its scripted line up this year, and Dietland was one of the many casualties.
The series starred Joy Nash as Plum Kettle, a ghostwriter for a New York fashion magazine editor. Plum struggles with self-image issues and the brutal treatment of her boss, so she embarks on a journey of self-discovery.
While Dietland did earn critical acclaim and passionate fans AMC did not give it a second season, and the finale aired on July 30.
11. Reverie
![Reverie Season 1 Episode 9 - Sarah Shahi as Mara Kint](https://www.telltaletv.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/NUP_181027_0808.jpg)
NBC said goodbye to its virtual reality drama Reverie this year. The series aired in between May and August of 2018 on NBC and starred Sarah Shahi as a former hostage negotiation and expert on human behavior, brought in to help save people lost in their own virtual worlds.
The Hollywood Reporter said that the series received a lackluster 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.85 million total viewers with delayed viewing factored into the mix.
12. American Vandal
Mockumentary American Vandal stole many hearts and its cancellation after a seemingly successful second season was a shock to many.
While the first season was a playful spin on Serial (with dick jokes), the second season, while centered on a diarrhea catastrophe and a “Turd Burglar”, had a slightly more contemplative tone, exploring the effect of social media on the younger generation.
Both seasons were critical successes and appear to have done well in the ratings (if word-of-mouth and social media are any indicator), so the reasons behind the cancellation still remain unclear.
Whatever happened, canceling American Vandal when it still had plenty more to say — real dick move, Netflix. The creators are reportedly shopping around a third season to other networks.
13. Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce
Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce is Bravo’s first scripted series. It follows self-help author Abby McCarthy, (Lisa Edelstein) as she deals with a divorce she has been trying to keep out of the public eye. She gets the support she needs to start a new life from her friends, who are also dealing with custody battles and marriage issues and other fun adventures that come with 40.
The show ended this year after five seasons. The first two had full orders of 13 episodes, while the last three seasons were shorter, spread over 1.5 years with short breaks in between. While we’re sad to see Abby and the gang go, it’s rare that an ending is planned so far in advance. So, fans got closure, whether they liked the ending or not.
14. UnREAL
![Sudden Death](https://www.telltaletv.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/UR_408_01182018_0189R.jpg)
UnREAL follows stressed reality show producer Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby) as she navigates the chaotic behind-the-scenes drama of the show with her personal life and a dependent relationship with her power-hungry, ratings-obsessed boss, Quinn King (Constance Zimmer.)
The show’s first 30 episodes aired on Lifetime. The 4th and final season completed production before Season 3 aired, and was picked up by Hulu and marketed as a “Hulu Original.”
15. Colony

The alien invasion series Colony was canceled after Season 3. The series originally aired on Thursday nights and was the number one scripted show in the ratings.
TVLine reports that the decision to move production from California to Canada, and the time slot change from Thursdays to Wednesdays caused the slight dip in viewership that occurred between Season 1 and 2 to increase for Season 3.
16. Famous In Love
In June, Freeform canceled teen drama Famous in Love after two seasons. In their official statement, Freeform called the cancellation a “difficult decision.”
The Season 2 finale ended on a cliffhanger where the EMTs pulled up to a house and prepared a stretcher. The party the stretcher was being prepared for, remains unknown.
