What to Watch on TV: The Owl House, Somebody Feed Phil, Obi-Wan Kenobi

Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of May 22nd! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to.

This week’s picks include Somebody Feed Phil’s return, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s debut, and more.

Bob’s Burgers – Sunday, May 22

Better Call Saul – Monday, May 23

Part one of the critically acclaimed’s final season is set to end as Jimmy and Kim’s plan to frame Howard hits a bump in the road. Will they succeed as the case trudges on? Better Call Saul’s spring finale airs Monday, May 23 at 9/8c on AMC.

Episode Description: Jimmy and Kim deal with a last-minute snag in their plan.

This Is Us – Tuesday, May 24

After the tearjerker of a penultimate episode where the Big Three and everyone around them said goodbye to Rebecca, it’s now our turn to say goodbye as the trio reflects on life, loss, and what it all means for them. This Is Us says goodbye Tuesday, May 24 at 9/8c on NBC.

Somebody Feed Phil – Wednesday, May 25

Phil Rosenthal is back and grabbing a bite in Oaxaca, Helsinki, Madrid, Maine, and Portland. Somebody Feed Phil returns Wednesday, May 25 on Netflix.

Season Description: “Everybody Loves Raymond” creator Phil Rosenthal travels the globe to take in the local cuisine and culture. This season will feature Phil traveling to all new destinations, including Oaxaca, Maine, Helsinki, Portland and Madrid.

Emergency – Friday, May 27

A night of spring break fun carefully planned out by a pair of friends hits an abrupt halt when they find a semi-conscious girl in their apartment. What goes down from there is a dangerous mission to get her help. Will they get her to the hospital? Emergency debuts Friday, May 27 on Prime Video.

Movie Description: Kunle (Donald Elise Watkins) and his best friend, Sean (RJ Cyler), are both seniors in college about to embark on an epic night of Spring Break parties. Sean has the whole night planned out, including every party they will hit on their “legendary tour.” Kunle is down, yet mostly concerned with finishing up his mold experiment in his lab, as his acceptance to Princeton is hinging on the results. They return to their apartment to pre-game, yet find that their roommate, Carlos (Sebastian Chacon), left the door open. As they enter with trepidation, Sean and Kunle discover a drunk, semi-conscious White female they don’t know on the floor and an oblivious Carlos, who didn’t hear her come in over the videogame blaring in his ears. Kunle wants to call the cops but Sean vehemently opposes the idea concerned how it will look when the cops show up (two Black men, one Latino man and a passed out White woman). Together, Carlos, Sean and Kunle load the girl (who they nickname Goldilocks, but whose real name is Emma (Maddie Nichols) into Sean’s van, with the intention of taking her somewhere safe rather than calling the police. Meanwhile, Emma’s sister, Maddy (Sabrina Carpenter), has realized that Emma left the party they were at, and begins to search for her in a drunk panic using Emma’s phone’s location. What ensues is a chaotic, hilarious, and tension-filled chase all over town as our trio grapples with their differences while attempting to bring Emma to safety.

Obi-Wan Kenobi – Friday, May 27

 

A decade after Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan is back and dealing with the long-term effects of Anakin Skywalker’s defection to the dark side. Obi-Wan Kenobi makes his streaming debut Friday, May 27 on Disney+.

Series Description: “Obi-Wan Kenobi” begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. 

Shoresy – Friday, May 27

If you’re a Letterkenny fan, you know the name of Riley and Jonesy’s long-time nemesis. Now, he’s getting his own show and taking his antics on the road. Shoresy premieres Friday, May 27 on Hulu.

Series Description: Shoresy moves to Sudbury, Canada, to join a senior AAA hockey team in his quest to never lose again

Stranger Things 4: Part I – Friday, May 27

It’s the beginning of the end as everyone is trying to adjust to life after the big battle. With the story nearing its end, will they be able to finally find a way to defeat what lies in the Upside Down? Stranger Things 4: Part I drops Friday, May 27 on Netflix.

Season Description: It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. The Owl House – Thursday, May 19

It’s the last full episode of the groundbreaking animated series as the Luz and company are reunited and are faced with a day of unity. But will it all be as it seems? The Owl House season 2 finale airs Saturday, May 28 at 9/8c on the Disney Channel.
