Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of June 18th! Our picks this week include some exciting season premieres and a few season finales.

This week we feature The Righteous Gemstones, Secret Invasion, The Bear, and more!

Here are our recommendations for what to watch on TV this week:

The Righteous Gemstones – Sunday, June 18th

The Righteous Gemstones – Season 3

Dr. Gemstone has now semi-retired, and his family realizes they now have to figure out a way to bring in more people and finances. The Righteous Gemstones Season 3 premieres Sunday, June 18th at 10/9c on HBO and Max.

Episode 1 Description: In the wake of their father’s semi-retirement, Jesse, Judy, and Kelvin must deal with dwindling attendance and donations; Eli is visited by another figure from his past.

Episode 2 Description: Eli does his best to smooth over relations with the Montgomery boys after a visit to their doomsday prepper compound; back at the Salvation Center, the siblings face off against the Board of Ministers.

The Walking Dead: Dead City – Sunday, June 18th

Maggie and Negan reunite to take on Manhattan. Meanwhile, a marshal meets the quiet, young Ginny in his pursuit of Negan. The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres Sunday, June 18th at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+. 

Episode Description: Maggie finds Negan, and they travel to Manhattan; a marshal named Armstrong follows Negan; meeting a quiet young girl named Ginny.

Superman & Lois – Tuesday, June 20th

After being behind bars for 17 years, Lex Luthor is set to be released just as Lois and Clark find parenting Jordan about his powers a bit difficult. Superman & Lois airs Tuesday, June 20th at 8/7c on The CW.

Episode Description: Lois and Clark clash with Jordan over his carelessness around using his powers in public; after 17 years behind bars, Lex Luthor is set to be released from prison.

Secret Invasion – Wednesday, June 21st

Finding out that Earth is in danger of a Skrull invasion, Nick Fury pairs up with his allies Evertt Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos to save the planet. Secret Invasion premieres Wednesday, June 21st on Disney+.

Series Description: In Marvel Studios’ new series Secret Invasion, set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart the imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.

Class of ’09 – Wednesday, June 21st

The Class of 09 finally reunite for a final showdown with the system they created while the trainees graduate. Class of ’09 finale airs Wednesday, June 21st on Hulu.

Episode Description: Tayo seizes control of the Bureau and makes the radical reforms he always dreamed of; the class reunites in a final showdown with the system they created; the trainees graduate, wondering where they will all end up.

High Desert – Wednesday, June 21st

Peggy’s private investigator misadventures all come to a head one last time. High Desert finale airs Wednesday, June 21st on Apple TV+.

Series Description: Peggy Newman, a woman with a checkered past, makes the life-changing decision to become a private investigator following the death of her beloved mother, with whom she lived in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, California.

And Just Like That… – Thursday, June 22nd

Carrie and the gang are back for more adventures in the Big Apple. Looking to keep moving forward, Carrie meets with a real estate broker. And Just Like That… Season 3 premieres Thursday, June 22nd on Max.

Episode Description: Looking to move forward, Carrie meets with self-made real estate broker Seema Patel.

Glamorous – Thursday, June 22nd

Kim Cattrall plays a legendary makeup mogul who helps the young Marco Mejia figure out the direction his life should go on Netflix’s latest series. Glamorous premieres Thursday, June 22nd on Netflix.

Series Description: Glamorous tells the story of Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a young gender non-conforming queer man whose life seems to be stuck in place until he lands a job working for legendary makeup mogul Madolyn Addison (Cattrall). It’s Marco’s first chance to figure out what he wants out of life, who he actually is, and what it really means for him to be queer.

The Bear – Thursday, June 22nd

On the Season 2 premiere, the crew has to put a plan in motion when opening a new restaurant. The Bear premieres Thursday, June 22nd on Hulu. 

Episode Description: Faced with the reality of opening a new restaurant, the crew must make a plan.

I’m A Virgo – Friday, June 23rd

Cootie is 13 feet tall and just now experiencing the world around him like other kids his age. He finds his way much like others, but with the added detail that he towers over everyone. I’m A Virgo premieres Friday, June 23rd on Prime Video.

Series Description: A coming-of-age joyride about Cootie, a 13-foot-tall man, who escapes to experience the beauty and contradictions of the real world; he forms friendships, finds love, navigates awkward situations, and encounters his idol named The Hero.

Swagger – Friday, June 23rd

Season 2 continues the story of a basketball prodigy and his family as they navigate the politics of youth basketball and the ambition of going pro. Swagger Season 2 premieres Friday, June 23rd on Apple TV+.

Series Description: Basketball players, their families and their coaches get swept up into the youth-sports economy. They all must walk a fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption.
