The Rookie Season 6 Trailer: The Team Unites Against Its Biggest Mystery Yet

The Rookie‘s Season 6 trailer unites the team as they face their biggest villain yet, whose identity remains a mystery.

Aaron Thorsen’s life remains a question leading into this new season because of the traumatic events of The Rookie Season 5 Episode 22, “Under Siege.” A group of masked people attacked various members of the LAPD’s Mid-Wilshire Division.

The season finale ends with the additional cliffhanger that one man, portrayed by Kristian Bruun, may be pulling the strings. The various diversions leave it so The Rookie‘s team and the audience don’t know the Mystery Man’s identity.

Richard T. Jones’s Wade Grey leads into the two-minute trailer for the show’s upcoming season by saying, “The way we do things matters. Protocol and tradition are the metal from which every cop in this city is forged.”

The Rookie‘s trailer then sprinkles in new footage from Season 6, like Bailey visiting the station and Nolan & Celina in a car chase, with reminders of where Season 5 left off, like Bailey & Nolan’s engagement and Aaron’s current status.

Those lingering storylines from Season 5 will play out in the season premiere on Tuesday, February 20, at 9/8c on ABC, and maybe even the second episode.

The latter will be The Rookie‘s landmark 100th episode.

With glimpses of black-tie attire in the promo video, there’s reason to theorize that the celebratory episode could feature Bailey and Nolan’s wedding. After all, Nolan and Nyla discuss the “Curse of the Last Shift” in the trailer.

There is also a quick glimpse at a Chenford scene where Lucy tells Tim, “I don’t like that smile,” and Tim responds, “That’s my smile.”

So, there’s plenty to speculate about what Tim is planning and what The Rookie has in store for the fan-favorite couple in its sixth season. 

Overall, The Rookie‘s trailer promises more action and romance in Season 6, and luckily, there are only a few weeks left to wait to see it all.
