Daredevil, News

Daredevil: Born Again has added another cast member from Netflix’s Daredevil to its ensemble.

Wilson Bethel is set to return as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, aka Bullseye.

ComicBook.com was the first to report about Bethel’s reprisal of the role. The outlet shared that Marvel did not respond for comment.

Bethel made his debut in Season 3 of the Netflix series, where his character became Daredevil’s new nemesis. At the end of the third season, Dex gets a life-saving surgery that eventually turns him into the villain known as Bullseye.

According to Deadline, Bethel is set to return for at least three episodes of the series that is currently being filmed.

Bethel joins returning cast members from Netflix’s Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher

EMPIRE recently shared that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson are reportedly set to reprise their Daredevil roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, respectively.

Daredevil: Born Again‘s new cast members include Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini, and Nikki M. James.

The original series, led by Charlie Cox, follows Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, who lives a double life — an attorney by day and crime-fighting vigilante by night.

The three seasons streamed on Netflix from 2015 to 2018. Because of the character’s success on Daredevil, Netflix created The Punisher. While originally exclusively on Netflix, the series and its companions now stream on Disney+.

Daredevil: Born Again has had quite the journey to the small screen since it went into development in 2022 and began filming in 2023.

Production paused in May 2023 when the Writers Guild of America (WGA) went on strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for a fair contract.

As previously reported, Marvel Studios decided to overhaul the superhero series and its TV division when the WGA strike concluded in September 2023. That reshuffle included letting go of the show’s head writers, Matt Corman and Chris Ord, and several episodic directors.

Shortly after the retooling, Deadline reported that Dario Scardapane, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead would lead the Disney+ show’s creative team. Scardapane is the new showrunner, while Benson and Moorhead will direct. The upcoming series will reportedly take a more serialized approach now.

Daredevil: Born Again does not have a release date yet.

Daredevil is streaming on Disney+.
