Them: The Scare Trailer Teases Sinister Forces at Play
Prime Video has released the official trailer for the second season of the horror anthology series Them: The Scare.
The anthology series, created by Little Marvin, premiered in 2021, with the first season titled Them: Covenant. This eight-episode season premieres on Thursday, April 25, on Prime Video. Deborah Ayorinde returns as Dawn Reeve, the lead role.
Like its predecessor, Them: The Scare is set in Los Angeles and follows LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve, who investigates the gruesome murder of a foster home mother. Dawn will encounter dark and sinister elements as she starts uncovering the truth of the murder.
Luke James, Pam Grier, Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, Wayne Knight, Carlito Olivero, Charles Brice, and Iman Shumpert round out the rest of Them: The Scare‘s cast.
The Them: The Scare trailer starts with Dawn waking up after dreaming of a mysterious young man. She then arrives at the murder scene, where she discovers the mangled body of the victim.
Forensics then notes how they have never seen a body in that state other than in a train incident, creating the implication that perhaps sinister forces are involved.
The footage spotlights Dawn trying to piece the case together, as she believes this is an act of someone who has killed before.
Them: The Scare‘s trailer shows flashes of Luke James as Edmund Gaines, hinting at his character’s involvement in the murder. Pam Grier’s Athena later asks, “Do you believe in God?” as a mysterious force drags Dawn away.
The trailer concludes with multiple images of Dawn continuing her investigation, mysterious images of people being attacked, televisions turning on and off, and someone or something haunting Edmund.
Them: The Scare is a co-production of Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. The creator of the anthology series Little Marvin serves as showrunner and executive producer. Miri Yoon and Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment and Steve Prinz also executive produce the series.
