The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 7 Review: Legendary

Reviews

Since the beginning of The Equalizer Season 4, we have seen hints of Delilah wanting to follow in her mother’s footsteps by joining the military. However, The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 7, “Legendary,” allows her to do that by working a case with Robyn herself.

This allows Delilah to experience her mother’s work, but it also allows us to see how she would react under pressure and working with families like Robyn does. However, it is harder for her since the victim is one of her closest friends.

Because Delilah knows Raya so well, her emotions are very palpable. That, plus the discussion with her mother about military school, pushes her to react childishly, going off on her mother and walking out mid-conversation.

But it is because they work the case together and because Delilah knows the victim that Robyn finally understands she must allow her daughter to follow her heart and make her own decisions without letting her personal experience come between them.

Throughout The Equalizer Season 4, Robyn has worked hard to discourage Delilah from joining the military. However, she changes her mind when she hears her daughter’s speech to Raya’s mom about unconditional love and allowing your child to forge their own path.

Seven episodes into the season, she is ready to admit that Delilah might be right about choosing her own path. If she wants to go to military school, all she can do is give her the support she needs.

It makes perfect sense that Robyn wants to stop her after all the loss she experienced in the military, but why should she let her past dictate her daughter’s future?

Now that we know the show is coming back for another season, it’ll be interesting to see where Delilah’s future goes.

As great as it has been to see Delilah explore her options and forge her own path, there is one plotline the show seems afraid to discuss: What exactly is going on between Dante and Robyn?

From the moment Dante and Robyn met on The Equalizer, there have been hints of romantic feelings between them. However, that hasn’t been fully explored in any of the seasons.

On The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 6, “DOA,” Dante indirectly expressed his jealousy of Robyn’s ex-husband after she asked for his help. By the end of the episode, Miles asks Robyn to let him help in her operation.

The show suggests a possible love triangle. Miles will work closer to Robyn, intervening in her semi-perfect dynamic with Dante.

Nevertheless, how much would this love triangle truly affect the storyline?

Besides a few flirtatious comments here and there and the possibility of getting together for drinks, nothing much has happened between Dante and Robyn. They have both been afraid to take the next step.

Could it be because of their work relationship? Are they afraid they might ruin the operation if they become involved?

Contrary to that, we have seen glances at Miles and Robyn’s past and the fights for Delilah’s guardianship. The fact that Miles came to Robyn asking her to let him be a part of her job shows he is ready to move on from their disagreements and accept her for who she is and what she does.

Maybe seeing Miles in the picture will push Dante to share his feelings with Robyn and finally take her out for those drinks.
