The Office Spinoff Ordered to Series at Peacock
A new TV show set in the same universe as The Office is coming to Peacock!
The Office‘s Greg Daniels and Nathan for You‘s Michael Koman created the mockumentary comedy series that the streaming service ordered to series.
In January 2021, Peacock became the official streaming home for the NBC comedy that aired for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013. So, the streaming service becoming the home for this new untitled installment isn’t all that surprising.

There hasn’t been any confirmation about whether or not any characters from the original series will bridge the shows together. However, the comedy series’ description reveals that it will include the same documentary crew.
“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters,” per the show’s logline.
As previously announced, Alice & Jack‘s Domhnall Gleeson and The White Lotus‘s Sabrina Impacciatore will lead the show’s ensemble of new characters. Any descriptions of their characters are still under wraps.
Variety reports that “Daniels opened a writers’ room in January 2024 to begin working on the new iteration of the hit NBC mockumentary sitcom.”

“It’s been more than ten years since the final episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to gain popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock,” Lisa Katz, President, NBCUniversal Entertainment, said.
“In partnership with Universal Television and led by the creative team of Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, this new series set in the universe of Dunder Mifflin introduces a new cast of characters in a fresh setting ripe for comedic storytelling: a daily newspaper,” Katz added.
Daniels and Koman executive produce the series alongside Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille).
This Untitled Daniels/Koman project produced by Universal Television will begin production in July.
