Disclaimer Sets October Premiere Date on Apple TV+

The highly anticipated limited series Disclaimer, starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, will premiere globally this fall.

Apple TV+ announced that the seven-episode limited series, created and directed by five-time Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón, will debut with its first two episodes on Friday, October 11.

Disclaimer‘s new episodes will be released weekly through the finale on November 15, 2024.

The psychological thriller stars Academy Award winners Blanchett and Kline, as well as Sacha Baron Cohen, Lesley Manville, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Louis Partridge, Leila George, and Hoyeon.

Based on Renee Knight’s novel of the same name, Disclaimer stars Blanchett as Catherine Ravenscroft, a successful and respected television documentary journalist who has built a career on revealing others’ concealed transgressions.

“When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets,” per the limited series’ official synopsis.

“As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships with her husband, Robert (Cohen), and their son, Nicholas (Smit-McPhee).”

Disclaimer was ordered to series in September 2021.

At the time, Apple TV+ presented Disclaimer as the first project to debut from a multi-year deal with Cuarón, who is developing the TV series exclusively for Apple TV+. Cuarón is a producer on the Apple Original Film Raymond and Ray, which was initially released in 2022.

Disclaimer also marks the first time Cuarón has written and directed all episodes of an original series.

Disclaimer is produced by Esperanto Filmoj and Anonymous Content.

Cuarón serves as executive producer alongside Esperanto Filmoj’s Gabriela Rodriguez and Anonymous Content’s David Levine and Steve Golin. Knight serves as co-executive producer.

Academy Award winner Emmanuel Lubezki and Academy Award nominee Bruno Delbonnel serve as directors of photography and executive produce.

Donald Sabourin and Carlos Morales are also executive producers. Finneas O’Connell, a multiple Academy and Grammy Award winner, composed the score for Disclaimer.
