In the new Apple TV+ dramedy Land of Women, Eva Longoria is on the run with her mother and teen daughter.

Longoria, who also serves as an Executive Producer for the series, plays Gala. Gala is a wealthy New Yorker forced to flee her posh life when her husband disappears and the criminals he owes money to come looking to collect. With her mother and daughter in tow, Gala flees to Spain.

Specifically, she flees to her mother’s hometown, which her mother fled decades earlier. Despite being an obvious fish out of water, Gala tries to start a new life in the picturesque wine town with the help of a charming local, played by Santiago Cabrera.

But things are, of course, never that simple, and pretty soon, long, long-buried secrets emerge, and uncomfortable family truths are revealed.

The series, which is inspired by Sandra Barneda’s best-selling novel La Tierra de las Mujeres, was created by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, and Paula Fernández and directed by Iris Award winner Carlos Sedes.

Staring alongside Longoria and Cabrera are Carmen Maura as Gala’s mother, Julia, and Victoria Bazúa as her daughter Kate.
