Slow Horses Season 4 Sets September Premiere Date on Apple TV+

It’s official! Apple TV+’s Slow Horses returns with its fourth season in September.

The streamer has released a first look at the espionage drama’s upcoming season in a new photo of series star Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb. 

Slow Horses Season 4 will return with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, September 4, on Apple TV+. New episodes will stream weekly through the season finale on October 2. This season of Slow Horses is adapted from Spook Street, the fourth novel in the CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning Mick Herron series.

Apple TV+ renewed Slow Horses for Season 4 in 2022, shortly after its debut. The BAFTA Award-winning series is about “a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in an MI5 dumping ground department known unaffectionately as Slough House.” 

Alongside Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, BAFTA Scotland Award winner Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce will return to Slow Horses.

SAG Award winner Hugo Weaving, BAFTA Award winner Joanna Scanlan, IFTA Award winner Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, and James Callis will join the ensemble in its upcoming season.

The fourth season, per its logline, “opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking Slough House’s already unstable foundations.”

The show’s third season premiered with Slow Horses Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2, “Strange Games / Hard Lessons,” in November 2023. It concluded with Slow Horses Season 3 Episode 6, “Footprints,” in December 2023. 

Apple TV+ renewed Slow Horses for a fifth season shortly after Season 3 concluded. That season will be adapted from the fifth novel, London Rules.

Slow Horses is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films and adapted for television by Will Smith. Adam Randall directed Season 4.

Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Jane Robertson, Julian Stevens, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Graham Yost and Smith serve as executive producers on the series.
