Hi, I’m Jamie!

I’m a Registered Dietitian of over 8 years, but eating healthy didn’t always come naturally to me. I’ve been exactly where you are, right now. The all or nothing dieting, the constant food guilt, the scale obsession, absolutely no balance with food…. Sound familiar?

Here’s a little bit about my story

I grew up as a naturally “thin” kid and never really had to worry about what I ate or my size. As I got older, I started gaining weight and felt like I had no control over my body. This went on for years.

All of the typical “eat less” diets and strategies didn’t work and left me feeling more out of control around food than when I started. I’d constantly think: “Why can’t I just have more willpower?” I was constantly cycling between being “all in” with healthy eating or “all out”.

THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO BALANCE.

I knew there had to be another way, so I shifted my focus to working on implementing small, healthy habits. I finally started to find my own balance with food.

My struggles with my own diet and body are what inspired me to pursue becoming a Registered Dietitian. After years of working with women of all ages and backgrounds I quickly learned how saturated our lives are by diet culture.

IT IS SO DISCOURAGING TO FEEL LIKE YOU’RE CONSTANTLY TRYING TO BE “HEALTHY” OR “GOOD” ONLY TO END UP IN THE EXACT SAME PLACE, EVERY SINGLE TIME, MORE FRUSTRATED THAN EVER.

Our very first experiences learning about nutrition are often overhearing our mother talk about how she needs to lose weight, or our grandmother’s new diet she’s about to start. We learn quickly from a young age that ALL weight gain is bad and you’re only healthy if you’re thin. Ugh.

Here’s the good news. There IS another way. You can find balance with food. You can heal your relationship with food, improve your body image, and develop healthy habits that actually become a normal part of your life.

And that’s why I’m here! My personal mission is to share with as many women who will possibly listen to me that restriction and dieting are not the solution, there is more to your health than your weight alone, and there IS a way out of the dieting frustration.

I’ve spent my time as a Registered Dietitian dedicated to helping women just like you find balance with food and build healthy, consistent habits into your life.

You can do this, too! I’m so happy you’re here!
