TULSA, Okla. — Gathering Place is among one of 100 travel destinations featured in National Geographic’s newest book, Here Not There: 100 Unexpected Travel Destinations, written by award-winning travel writer Andrew Nelson. Additionally, the book aims to inspire travelers to explore unique and affordable alternatives to traditional vacation spots around the world.  

Gathering Place: An Urban Green Oasis

In Here Not There, Gathering Place is highlighted as a unique urban green space, serving as an alternative to Central Park in New York City. Moreover, Nelson praises Gathering Place’s innovative design, high-production programming, public art installations, lavish landscaping, and unique location near Route 66.
