Double chance of Art Music Award for WA Symphony Orchestra world premieres

WA Symphony Orchestra has a double chance to win a prestigious 2024 Art Music Award, shortlisted twice among four nominations for the category Performance of the Year: Notated Composition, among a strong showing by WA musicians in the national competition.

The two WASO world premiere performances highlighted are Lachlan Skipworth and Jay Emmanuel’s The Tides of Longing – with the WASO Chorus, Aquinas College Schola Cantorum, Voyces, actor Abimanjou Mathivannan and conductor Eduardo Strausser – and Andrew Schultz’s Bassoon Concerto – with WASO principal bassoon Jane Kircher-Lindner and principal conductor Asher Fisch.
