Bastille Day is July 14. The storming of a prison back in 1789 seems like a weird thing to celebrate but, hey, who are we Aussies to talk with our obsession with a few convict ships lobbing here in 1788?

Why were the peasants revolting? Before you say “poor hygiene”, let me assert that rising costs played a big part in the fall of Louis XVI and the French Revolution kicking off.
