Gaff and his partner said their vows in October last year at the Quarry Amphitheatre just hours before a fire started at the nearby Bold Park.

Wedding guests were reportedly evacuated as the blaze quickly took hold.

A witness described seeing guests leaving in a taxi — one of them holding an uncut wedding cake.

Sources say the attendees had to relocate to Elliot Yeo’s pub, the Broken Hill Hotel.

The wingman is in his 14th season in blue and gold. He has earned an All-Australian title twice as well as a 2015 John Worsfold medal.
