To end the story, storms tried to form. I had more fun watching the people. Mather Point. Phantom Ranch at the bottom. Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim.
Arrival at the canyon. Late to the show and everything is wet. That's ok.
Same storm as it crosses Wupatki.
Looking East at Sunset Crater. Might be time to go.
Yep. Flee.

Story
The trip to the Grand Canyon yesterday, 8/9/2024 was for the purpose of trying to catch thunderstorms at night. The usual stops along the way. Sunset Crater/ Bonito Park, Wupatki. Storms forming the whole way up. But not much after dark. Bonito Park turned out to be the highlight. With a view of Sunset Crater to the East, and the San Francisco Peaks to the West, it is a great little spot. Tip, if you come out here at night you can watch the elk cross. Images follow.
