The original gang is returning to The Circle.
Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have closed deals to guest-star on Netflix‘s That ’90s Show, reprising their respective roles as Eric Forman, Donna Pinciotti, Fez, Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso, TVLine has learned.
In addition, Netflix on Saturday dropped a first-look photo from the That ’70s Show sequel, featuring returning series regulars Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty) and Kurtwood Smith (Red):
The That ’70s Show revival picks up 15 years after the original series finale on Fox. The year is 1995, and Eric and Donna’s daughter Leia (played by Shut Eye‘s Callie Haverda) is “visiting her grandparents for the summer, where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red,” according to the official logline.
Season 1 began production in February and is set to consist of 10 episodes. A premiere date has not yet been announced. [pmc_inline_gallery]
Grace currently stars as Tom on ABC’s Home Economics. His post-’70s credits also include a starring role in Season 1 of NatGeo’s The Hot Zone, as well as episodes of Black Mirror, Drunk History, Get Shorty, The Muppets, The Twilight Zone and Workaholics.
Prepon most recently starred as Alex Vause on the Netflix drama Orange Is the New Black, which wrapped its seven-season run in 2019. Her resume also includes starring roles on ABC’s October Road and NBC’s Are You There, Chelsea?, as well as select episodes of Castle, House, How I Met Your Mother, In Plain Sight and Medium.
Valderrama can be seen on CBS’ NCIS, which was recently renewed for Season 20, and is currently prepping a Zorro remake for ABC. Previous credits also include Awake, From Dusk Till Dawn, Grey’s Anatomy, Minority Report and Raising Hope.
Kunis continues to voice Meg Griffin on Fox’s Family Guy, which is currently in its landmark 20th season. Guest spots on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and CBS’ Two and a Half Men (opposite real-life hubby Kutcher) aside, That ’90s Show will mark her first major on-screen TV gig since ’70s ended its eight-season run in 2006.
Kutcher, meanwhile, most recently headlined Netflix’s The Ranch, which currently stands as the streamer’s longest-running multi-camera sitcom (at 80 episodes). The series reunited him with ’70s costar Danny Masterson (Hyde), as well as Rupp, Smith and Valderrama (Fez), all of whom recurred. Prior to that, he returned to his sitcom roots as Charlie Sheen’s successor on CBS’ Two and a Half Men.

I’m so excited about this!
So did Hyde OD or something? Have they said how they’re going to explain his absence? Or will he just be off screen, having closed his record store, despite the fact we still all purchased physical music back in the 90s?(Yes, I know that scandal is why he was not asked back, so no need for anyone to “inform” me about that.)
Maybe he’ll be in prison.
lol
I’m sure there will be some mention made about the character’s absence in the same way Fuller House had the character of Michelle as a fashion designer in NYC and Saved By The Bell had Screech up in space aboard a space station before addressing the actor/character’s death the following season. The writers always come up with inventive ways to deal with major character absences.
I’m hoping he’s running a chain of Grooves Record and CD stores or that Grooves evolved into Sam Goody/Suncoast
Which will eventually go out of business.
I think we ALL know what type of business Hyde would be in today. ;) Question is would he be farming, running a dispensary, or both. ;)

And we all know what Leo is doing today too…lol. He’s VP of Marketing for Chong CBD and its affiliated businesses. ;)
And today even tho we have digital streaming service like apple music itunes and others records are coming back where I live we have a place call the Exchange it’s a place where you can buy good quality vintage tech from back in the day from videogames of the 80s to records and cassettes.😋 It’s a groovy store.
According to the show’s timeline, these guys are just a couple years older than me, and I NEVER gave up my turntable, cassettes, or CDs. I did liquidate the 8 tracks though. ;)
I grew up in the 80s I remember playing Atri listening to records and watching classic trek long before this thing called Netflix arrived LMAO 😋😋😋🤓🤓🤓
@Jose, I always joke I’m a couple of years younger than the 70s Show Gang, but older than any of The Goldbergs Clan. And the 70s show gang are a few years younger than Wonder Years Kevin. ;)

You closer to a Goldberg or a Pinciotti. ;)
Same here. I still have everything. It would break my heard to trash my cassettes. Especially the mixes.
They haven’t released plot details for the characters that ARE returning, so they won’t be addressing ones like Hyde and Laurie till they talk about it on the show, if they address it at all
Laurie was played by another actress after she married fez
Hopefully not. They should leave open a way for him to make a guest appearance in future seasons if he isn’t found guilty at trial.
It seems ridiculous how long he’s been awaiting trial. Is it normal in America for trials to start over 2 years after the person was charged?
It seems wrong for a potentially innocent person to have their career ruined for 4 and a half years before theres even a trial.
Doesn’t that have something to do with “the Church” adjudicating this? Like it’s not going through the traditional court system?

It’s been so long, I almost forgot about the whole thing. But then again, I am old enough to be a part of the generation that never assumed celebrities were good at anything BUT acting, and that moral character was not something we discussed or demanded consequences for. For women, casting couches were a known negative part of choosing to be in that business, and we assumed many male “stars” were horn dogs. Especially the athletes. ;) Gay actors played at being horn dogs, as it actually helped them gain fame, whereas “coming out” could be the end for them.
For the record, I am NOT for trial by social media.
The reason it’s been taking so long is that a judge ruled in 2020 that, since the 4 females pressing charges were members of The Church of Scientology at the time of the events, they were required by Scientology contracts to have their cases handled by and ruled on by a Church of Scientology led & run arbitration board. They appealed and the Appellate Judge ruled just several months ago that they were no longer bound to those terms and the case could go to trial in a public court. Danny Masterson’s trial has been tentatively set for around August this year.
TY for the facts and filling in the blanks in my memory. Thought it had something to do with Scientology. I look forward to hearing how the trial goes In August, and I am reserving any judgement around charges and accusations until after we see what happens in Court.
–
All accusers are Scientologists then? DEFINITELY waiting to see what happens in Court before opining any further on this one. ;)
You’re welcome! looking back on my comment I omitted that The Church of Scientology was the reason for the initial delay in the courts in that was their defense for the case even brought to trial. IF the lower court decision had been upheld is there really anyone who doubts what the result would be??But you raised a very good point-whatever other factors might be in play –this is still an issue of the trier of fact looking at this particular case.
That only has to do with the civil trial against Scientology for harassment and stalking not the criminal one. The reason the criminal trial is taken so long is 1) pandemic delays and 2) Masterson’s legal team keeps filing new motions and asking for continuances. It’s a pretty common legal move for defendants that are not in jail to delay the trial as long as possible.
On February 8th,2022 Superior Court Judge S. Coen ruled in the CRIMINAL COURT case on the charges against Danny Masterson that the lower court’s decision that the Church of Scientology’s mandatory arbitration clause was unenforceable and therefore the CRIMINAL CASE against Masterson could proceed. The fact that 2 different proceedings (one civil one criminal)does not negate either one’s outcome.
Arbitration has nothing to do with criminal cases. You cannot arbitrate criminal charges. Those are two different cases. It is however related to the criminal case.
It’s the 90’s. He O.D’d on heroin.
Both Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith look great in the photo. It’s if no time has passed by for them.
I know right!
It’s really too bad about Danny Masterson. Not saying I feel bad for him. It’s more for me since I would’ve liked to see Hyde and Jackie back together. They were the best couple on the show and breaking them up was such a bad idea. Hopefully she’s not still with Fez. That was a horrid plot development in the final season.
I hope Danny Masterson is going to be in the reprise.
I hope they keep him far far away.
Right?!
He absolutely 100% won’t be. He’s facing serious criminal charges
Yeah that’s not happening. Netflix already fired him once. They’re not gonna hire him again.
No, because he might try to rape somebody.
I wonder if Laurie will return (played by Christina Moore, of course).
I love the Zima bottle in that pic. Takes me right back to the 90’s.
I saw that and grinned. Brings back memories of my favorite decade. I can’t wait for this. Although I’m sad Hyde won’t be a part of it, I’m danged excited to see the rest of the gang.
I hope after 15 years Fez has lost his accent. I hope Wilmer put that in the contract.
Hope they make Jackie and Hyde endgame with Hyde off screen. Also just need Bob to show up now!
Hey there. Hi there. Ho there. Bob definitely needs to show up at least one time.
Yes! We loved That 70’s Show and have enjoyed seeing the kids grow up and doing other projects. Will definitely watch That 90’s Show.
Donna’s Mom Midge. actress died so maybe they will say midge died too?
Hopefully now Netflix, or another service, will start streaming the original series again.
So how old will their daughter be? 14? I mean it picks up 15 years later and Donna wasn’t pregnant at the end. So basically the OG ends, and Donna gets pregnant asap.
