When Calls the Heart’s Kayla Wallace Written Out in Season 11 Premiere — Find Out Why (And Will She Be Back?)
One of Hope Valley’s most beloved residents was nowhere to be found as When Calls the Heart returned this Sunday.
In the Season 11 premiere of Hallmark Channel‘s long-running period drama, we learned via telegram that Fiona Miller, played by Kayla Wallace, will be working with her sister to fight for women’s suffrage and won’t be back home anytime soon. As a result, Wallace won’t be back on the show as Fiona for the foreseeable future, TVLine has confirmed.
Wallace’s exit “just came down to scheduling conflicts,” a Hallmark representative tells TVLine. While “we would love to have her in as many episodes as possible, Kayla had another exciting career opportunity while filming of” Season 1, the rep adds. (Wallace is set to be a series regular on Paramount+’s upcoming oil rig drama Landman, from Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and starring Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore.)
When Calls the Heart star and executive producer Erin Krakow (aka Elizabeth) tells TV Insider, though, that “we are hoping that we’ll be able to have Fiona back for some episodes” at some point down the road.

Well since they wrapped the filming of season 11 in November, Erin clearly knows if she will be back. No need to “hope”.
It’s obvious that she’s hoping that she’ll coming back for further seasons.

I don’t normally worry about the young students or children, but they have removed some main characters the fans grew to love.
It is harder to maintain a full cast and have enough storylines when there’s only 10-12 episodes. They also just entered their 11 season – so it’s bound to happen with either conflicts or not having the attention to give certain characters.
Fiona was very much missed in the first episode of season 11 and she’ll be missed in the future. It would be GREAT if you could get her back !!
Yes, Kayla Wallace was my favorite female actress on When Calls the Heart, but I totally understand Her leaving for better roles. She should be the star of Her own production!

Yes, I missed her. WCTH, is having too many favorites leave, replacing them with characters that don’t really add to the show.
Kayla Wallace will be greatly missed on WCTH. She adds SO much to each episode. I talk to a large group of women of all ages and each of us agree she is a very important part of each week. She plays a smart, helpful, caring, friend to all the other characters, both the men and women on the show. Please do what it takes to bring her back. I live in Northern Idaho. I have a lot of women whom I am in contact with in CA. They also feel the same. Fiona is Great!

I really missed seeing her. She was always so funny in most of her roles. So hoping we see her returning to the show. There has been so many that has left the show.
