It’s Scott Foley like you’ve never seen him before!

During this Thursday’s episode of the Max series The Girls on the Bus, Melissa Benoist‘s political journalist Sadie was covering a factory appearance by Foley’s Democratic presidential candidate Hayden Wells Garrett (aka Hot White Guy) when the scene turned into a Magic Mike homage.

“Hot White Guy may not have stood a chance at winning, and listening to him drone on about unions wasn’t particularly exciting, but hey, at least I was enjoying the view,” said Sadie’s voiceover as Hayden’s attention turned to her.

“If you’re horny, let’s do it. Ride it, my pony. My saddle’s waitin,'” Hayden suddenly declared, before ripping off his shirt and launching into a fantasy striptease to Ginuwine’s “Pony.” Then the pants came off and Hayden grabbed a fire extinguisher, positioning it rather suggestively. (Sadie has a very good imagination.)

Upon getting the script for the episode, Foley jokingly tells TVLine that he “immediately stopped eating.”

“It was the worst and the best scene I had to film, I think, not just of the episode, but of the whole season,” Foley says in the above video. “I don’t know if it’s flattering that the producers wrote that in or that the character of Sadie felt that way, but it was fun to play. But also terrifying. I’m 51 years old. Do I really want to do a striptease?”

The actor ended up getting into the sequence, even adding some saucy movements to the dance.

“The first take was fine. The second take, the director was like, ‘Do a little more hip gyrations, and the third take, let’s incorporate this fire extinguisher at the end, and you know, if you can stroke off the fire [extinguisher],'” Foley shares. “I was like, ‘Oh God, OK! All right. Got it. Can we stop there?!'”

Of course, “Pony” is the song that Channing Tatum famously strips to in Magic Mike, but Foley acknowledges that he is “in no way the dancer or mover that [Tatum] is.”

Still, “it was fun to do, and thank goodness that they had other dancers there with me, doing it, because you can focus on something else, which is a benefit to everybody involved,” Foley adds.

Foley’s moves also earned rave reviews from his co-stars Melissa Benoist, who was on set for the entire scene, and Natasha Behnam.

“I think all of us were like, ‘I can’t believe we’re watching this right now! It’s Scott Foley!'” Benoist recalls. “I think he was nervous. I think he was more nervous than he let on, and he did such a great job.”
