NBC on Friday became the second broadcast network (after CBS) to unveil its schedule for the Fall TV season. What shows are on the move, where did new ones land, and what’s on hold until midseason?
♦ The freshman hits Found and The Irrational are both moving to new nights for Season 2 — Thursday and Tuesday, respectively. “With [Law & Order: Organized Crime] moving to Peacock, that allows us to use SVU, which is obviously one of the strongest dramas on television, to lead into Found,” Jeff Bader, president of program planning strategy for NBCUniversal Entertainment, explained to TVLine, whereas The Irrational once again has The Voice as a lead-in, just on a different night.
♦ With Wendi McLendon-Covey’s St. Denis Medical and Reba McEntire’s Happy’s Place both ordered to series, NBC will have two comedy blocks this fall, airing Tuesday and Friday nights.
♦ Brilliant Minds (fka Dr. Wolf), the true life-inspired medical drama starring Zachary Quinto, has scored Monday’s plum aprés-The Voice slot.
♦ Neither Suits: L.A. nor Grosse Pointe Garden Society have been ordered to series yet, but they are both still in contention for midseason slots, at the very soonest.

CANCEL DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND
It’s already been renewed.
I just saw a minute of it. God, how awful and Howie isn’t a part of it. Such BS.
I’m still convinced Howie is the banker.
Thrilled to see St. Denis Medical on the schedule! It’s got a great cast lined up, and after Superstore and American Auto (RIP, gone too soon), I’ll watch anything with Justin Spitzer’s stamp on it.
American Auto was such a great show. I loved Superstore too and completely trust that whatever Justin makes will be hilarious
“Make Friday Great Again”???? Who knew!! Maybe Melissa Peterman should have been the long-lost sister instead of the, but it is a unique twist.
Can’t wait for Suits:LA. It needs to hurry up and get series orders. Ill be watching the new guys too.
What about S4 of Transplant?? Or will they dump it to Peacock?
S4 of Transplant was not only heartbreaking at times it was also very uplifting and rewarding. I really hope you get to see it.
WHY stick Reba’s show on Friday!!??? No confidence? Can’t wait myself.
Probably going on the same route when her original sitcom. They had good ratings for a Friday night.
Her last sitcom Malibu Country was on Fridays too, but it didn’t work out there.
Every network that has done a Friday comedy lineup the last decade has actually had decent success, good counterprogramming to what alot of the other networks air.
Does this mean that ‘Weakest Link’ was canceled? If so, then good riddance! Jane Lynch is better than that show.
It does not mean that. Unscripted fare such as that is typically opportunistically scheduled. They make some when they need some. –Mgmt.
I’m still not happy it was revived. The Anne Robinson version went downhill fast. The syndicated version hosted by George Gray was an even bigger trainwreck because disgraced executive producer Mike Richards had so much control over that version. He had contestants who behaved just like he did on his controversial podcast. NBC should’ve gotten Lynch to host a good game show like ‘Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego’ or ‘Trivial Pursuit’ instead.
Well no point in bothering with the new Reba show.
Really disappointed in losing Organized Crime on NBC. Just not paying for Peacock.
Just read the schedule and realized we watch nothing on NBC OTHER THAN OUR LOCAL NEWS. Are we missing anything good?
Nah
I hope The Irrational’s newest schedule doesn’t affect it’s viewership so much.
Wow, except for Thursday nights, I will be able to skip this channel entirely next year. Thanks, NBC.
I really don’t see Found surviving for a 3rd season. The only good part of the show is MPG. The rest of the cast is pretty unforgettable. The only reason why it survived was due to a lack of programming during the strike otherwise I think it would have been cancelled. Sad that OC is going to Peacock particularly if the show is going to be completely separate from the other shows with no crossover potential.
That should read – The rest of the cast is pretty forgettable.
I so agree with you.. Kinda sad to see it going to Peacock…I will will not follow
Yall Suck sticking Reba on Friday. She deserves better!
Here’s hoping it does well and they decide to anchor her at 8P.M on Tuesdays. I’ll take Friday since they assume it won’t do as well so the expectations aren’t as high.
I’m not going to be paying for Peacock so I guess it’s bye bye Stabler! Bad move, NBC!
links not working
Still mourning the cancellation of Magnum PI
It is noted that they are moving Night Court to the 8:30 position (Tuesday) in favor of Wendi McLendon-Covey’s new show St. Denis Medical
This move certainly appears to be a quiet, under the radar acknowledgement by NBC that Night Court is not the success they hoped for and, at present at least, a not good lead off the hour show
So much for “Law & Order Thursdays”. (It can’t be called that, IMO, unless all 3 shows are a part of it.)
.
If the worry is financial, NBC should have co-aired Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent with NBC paying half and Lark Pictures/Universal in Canada doing the other half. Or, yes, revive original CI.
.
OC moving to Peacock may actually be a blessing in disguise as it is grittier and now maybe the dialogue can also follow suit a bit, no longer beholden to broadcast rules. And CI did survive its own move to USA Network years ago. Time will tell, I guess.
Now that I have seen the schedule, I realize there is only one show that I will be watching on NBC – The Irrational. Thank you NBC for freeing up my Thursday nights; I only watched the early hours of L&O to see if there was any crossover with Organized Crime.
I cannot believe NBC is breaking up the Law and Order trifecta for the terrible Found show! Ridiculous to do that to the fans if Organized Crime and Chris Meloni!
I must disagree with you. Found is a great show with a great twist.
Love that Reba is coming back in a new sitcom..look forward to it….the only thing is WHY FRIDAY NIGHT….that’s where shows go to die!!! I really hope I don’t invest time watching it and the ratings are low and it’s CANCELLED….Think of another night to air….Move NIGHT COURT to friday, it’s not funny.
I just want to say that I am COMPLETELY heart broken that quantum leap was canceled. Im sure I wasn’t the only one watching.
