Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter says he is innocent of the sexual assault claims against him that were highlighted in ID’s recent Fallen Idols: Aaron and Nick Carter docuseries.
In interviews included in the series, Melissa Schuman, Ashley Repp and Shannon “Shay” Ruth alleged that Carter engaged in sexual activities with them without their consent. Schuman is a former member of the late 1990s/early 2000s girl group Dream. Repp was a friend of Carter’s sister, Angel. Ruth was a fan.
All three women have previously gone public with their claims.
“These are exactly the same outrageous claims that led us to sue this gang of conspirators,” Carter’s attorney, Dale Hayes, Jr., said in a statement to our sister site The Hollywood Reporter. “Those cases are working their way through the legal system now, and, based on both the initial court rulings and the overwhelming evidence, we have every belief that we will prevail and hold them accountable for spreading these falsehoods.”
TVLine has reached out to Hayes Jr. for additional comment. We also have reached out to ID for comment.
Fallen Idols is a four-part docuseries that delved into the lives of the titular brothers, “from their outsized fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s to their headline-making struggles in recent years,” according to the official description. The show also discussed Aaron’s struggles with mental health and substance abuse, as well as and the rift that occurred after Aaron decided to support his brother’s accusers. (Aaron died of an overdose in November 2022.)

Can’t realy trust these Docs they put out after the Glee one got the state which one actor was born in wrong.
I’m not saying I don’t trust the people making the claims it’s just I do ‘t trust ID to put out an accurate documentary.
Aaron had been saying this for years but nobody would listen
It’s understandable to be cautious about the accuracy of documentary content, especially given past mistakes like the one with the Glee actor’s state of birth.
I remember that these allegations kept the Backstreet Boys Christmas Special from airing on TV. Hope it’ll air when all this is over.
This is not the first time Nick Carter has faced such serious allegations, and he has steadfastly maintained his innocence.
Former Backstreet Boys member?
He’s hotter now than when he was a kid. Yum.

Curious about this part of the sentence “…engaged in sexual activities with them without their consent.” Isn’t that rape? Why not call it what it is?
I can’t believe these allegations against Nick Carter. It’s shocking to hear these claims from the docuseries
This game really gives me endless joy and excitement.
